Kaitlyn, my 3 yr old granddaughter
Hi All,

Kaitlyn is just 3 yrs old, she's been sick with a cough and wheezing since Oct of last year. She's a tiny little thing, just one kidney, occasionally has UTI's, but she's outspoken and very outgoing, I guess she's like her grandmother.

Last week I asked for prayers for her, her dad had moved all of them in November to Oklahoma so he could go to college via the cherokee nation. He's had just one job there, quit in two weeks, his grandmother had terminal cancer and he's the only one other than his grandmother's boyfriend who drives. So back and forth they've dragged my beautiful granddaughter all over the place. This morning grandma passed away so hopefully they'll stay put a bit and her daddy will get his act together and find a job to support his family properly.

Last week Kaitlyn's lymph glands swelled up she had the mumps only she didn't. Since they don't have insurance they have to go to the indian clinic or the ER (they had excellent insurance here and a good doctor). They prescribed antibiotics and said if the nodes didn't go down they'd see about a referral to a specialist to find out what is wrong with Kaitlyn.
I just got a call, she can get into see a specialist in February. Unless she becomes very ill she won't be seen sooner. This little girl only weighs 26lbs, she's very tiny, I make a vow here and now. If my granddaughter has cancer I will seek out custody to ensure she gets proper care. If they still lived in Wichita she would of already of been seen. This is such crap, her daddy cared more about his terminally grandmother than his ill daughter. You can only do so much for the terminally ill, Kaitlyn has her entire life ahead. Kaitlyn and her siblings deserve better.

Thanks for letting me vent, I am so frustrated. They live in a garage, 11 people in one house. My youngest granddaughter is only 5 months old.

BB

Bodybuilder prayers are being said for your Granddaughter and family.

You do have a full plate as it is but is there anyway Kaitlyn's parents would agree to her moving to Kansas to live with you?

RE: Kaitlyn, my 3 yr old granddaughter
Actually I'd take all 3 kids, age 4, 3 and 5 months. I don't see how they'd agree to let them come so Kaitlyn could get better care. The ER doctor claims that the nodes have come down slightly. That's not enough, in 72 hours they should of been down considerably. Her blood counts are off, she had occasional blood in her stool. Her parents are not taking proper care of her.

BB- sorry to hear of your worry about your grandbabies, do what you think is right and take care of the little ones. Will say a extra prayer for you and your grandchildren.

May God send his angels to hold you in his arms

BB...I am so sorry this is going on. Will pray that God takes care of all and the right decisions are made for little Kaitlin. God bless her. Why is it that people do things like this. A sick child is a sick child and always comes first. No questions asked.

God is never late.

In the end it doesn't matter how many years were in your life but how much life was in your years.

Bodybuilder I have an attorney from El Dorado I have used for adopting my children and guardianship or my niece.

This attorney is a well know child advocate, has adopted children himself, and his fees are on the low end.

BB, You may want to call the dept of Social Services, or Child protective services in the state they live in and let them investigate. 11 people in a garage is not the norm, and I can understand. I was a foster parent for many years.and I would also be concerned if it was my grand children or any other child for that matter.....Good luck in whatever you decide to do.

Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass.
It's about learning to dance in the rain.

Builder, the Others have given You Great Advice! Your Grand Children need You, and I know it would Probably be Tough with You Hurting and All of Life's Normal Problems, but You are a Fighter, I've seen that in You through Your Writings. You need, My Opinion Only to get it Through His Head that He needs to get a Handle on Things, and get those Little Ones Home!! Your Grand Children are Number One in Your Heart, I know Mine are in My Heart, and I Wish Them the Very Best, but I know You would Have a Much Better Peace of Mind if You had Them Near, or with You!! My Prayers are going Out, and Please Keep Us Informed!!Wink
