RE: Anyone with memory problems?
My Chronic Pain and Meds. has Me Forgetting All of the Time!! I Wish We could get Paid from w/c for that, but as Usual, They would Think We were Nuts for Asking!!
Failed Back Surgery, Chronic Pain, Totally Disabled. Knowledge is Power, Especially in the World of w/c. Learn as Much as You can about Your States w/c Laws, and don't Fight Battles alone, They Use Attorney's, and so Should You!! |

RE: Anyone with memory problems?
Count me and Bill in too.....I forgot to go to the Dr.s last week. First time I have ever done that. I knew when I woke up I had an appt and what time....double checked the calendar and then did something else. LOL Concentration level stinks too. Sometimes I can't balance my checkbook, remember what I'm doing, and certainly can't do more than one thing at a time anymore.
God is never late. In the end it doesn't matter how many years were in your life but how much life was in your years. |

RE: Anyone with memory problems?
Boy can I relate to this.. just out of hospitol, Tax time.... My meds were vicodin 5-500 2 every 4 hous and Oxxy heavy doses.. And with pain being an issue I went down to do our taxes and I sat there and felt so stupid.... I forgot all my paper work and mileage sheets at home..... I still to this day and am not on as many meds have memmory issues.... I ask my wife questions I already have asked or I drive past a delivery address, or I blank out when someone is talking cant remember the topic..........
But when a person is in such pain, it tends to over come any conversation or you simply try to block out to survive your pain flare ups..............my oppinion |

RE: Anyone with memory problems?
Hello everyone. I expericence the same thing. My family thinks sometime I am faking it or just being funny. My psych. social worker says it's because of being overwhelm and having a full plate to deal with. I believe it's the med. And chronic pain and easily exhaustion. Some things I can remeber good and somethings I forget or don't recall just soon as it happens. I keep a small notepad with me and I forget that I have one. It's not at all, that old age has anything to do with it. Laugh. These meds that we take, the side-effect multiplies with combination of others meds. Next time my appt. with PCP, I will bring info on all meds I take and question her about them. Do any of you all bring this concern to your PCP? Any concern about your pre-existing condition being affected by you job-injury and it's requiried meds? Thanks. Izell.

RE: Anyone with memory problems?
You know. When I ues to get my meds from the guy in the house with no lights, I didn't have any pain so to speak. But now fre of the illegal meds, I don't have the pain I thought I didn't have. Make any sence? I think that their main concern is their bottom line. Money. Not our health and well being.

RE: Anyone with memory problems?
Yep I can remember where the meds are but do have trouble remembering if I took something. Just did that last night I started to take something and had to pause to think about if I had taken it already. Of all the things I've lost I miss my mind the most!

RE: Anyone with memory problems?
Get yourselves pill box's with the days etc, that way you have some idea of when or if you have taken them , or make a list of all your meds and a daily calendar and check off your meds as you take them on a daily basis. I have a pill container that I use daily morning, noon nite. There are some that use times or you can add extra boxes to your exisisting one's.
Then there are the more expensive med dispensors, Purchased at pharmacy's that are electric, and filled weekly and beep or sound a chime etc when it is time to take your meds. Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass. It's about learning to dance in the rain. |

RE: Anyone with memory problems?
Sweet tooth sent me some really neat pill boxes...they are in a zippered case that slips right in my purse....I love em...Bill every day takes out just enough pain meds for one day.....on good days I have left overs on bad days I dont.......
