update
I had another MRI yesterday followed up with my Surgeon after, He didn't see anything wrong with my L4 disc space, but was concerned about the L5 right area. He said is was narrowed, and wouldn't object to going back in and removing the hardware to do an exploritory surgery as to why I'am still having pain.
This scares the hell out of me. That would make 4 surgeries in the same area. Woulnd't that make even more scar tissue? I also have a conjoined nerve in that space, even if one of those nerves are allready dammaged wouldn't it also be a risk to go back in. If I don't let him do this how will it affect my W/C? If I change my mind later would they cover? I just don't know what to do? After all this time of being in Pain, my surgeon now wants to go back in? Did he see something on the MRI that he's not telling me, trying to cover his own Butt? I want to get a second opinion. Should I pressure my Lawyer to get one? He said it would be a long hard process to get one. I have lost faith in this Surgeon. I keep having to remind him at every appointment whats been done, and what kind of treatments and drugs he's perscibed. Anyone else have this issue? 6/97--Discectomy L5-S1. 3/09--Discectomy L5-S1 (failed). 6/09--spinal fusion L5-S1. This year who knows? |

RE: update
no I had a great surgeon....but I would think WC would send you to one to keep from paying for another surgery......in either case if in doubt ask for a second opinion
;)Workmans comp is not a road you want to travel alone. You need a good lawyer,a great family and good friends to lean on.If you make it thru without losing everything you have worked for all your life, you have come out ahead of the game.....
