Claim accepted or not?
Was wondering something. My original injury was to my right hand/wrist. But not being able to use my right hand/wrist/arm I have hurt my left shoulder. (from picking up my son mostly) Anyways So I go and see my PM doctor and tell him about my shoulder hurting and how I did it and told him the pain was radiating to my neck and into my right shoulder blade area, he gives me a script for a tens unit for that particular problem. The insurance company sends me the tens unit, would that be like accepting my claim for the left arm/shoulder (as over compensation)?????????????????
Just curious I have had capsulodesis scaphoid, capsulodesis lunotriquetral joint wrist, debridement of triangular fibrocartilage all in my right wrist and a tendon sheath release(that was just one surgery) & a lunotriquetral fusion Plus now a wrist fusion |

RE: Claim accepted or not?
I can not answer your question about about the claim being accepted.
I can share from experience, the tens unit keeps me out of the ER room with my shoulder/neck/arm problems. |

RE: Claim accepted or not?
In PA, the IC paying medical bills does not equal an acceptance of the injury. I don't know about other states.

RE: Claim accepted or not?
It isn't the fact they just paid a medical bill they authorized a device that is not for my original injury but an over usage injury.
I have had capsulodesis scaphoid, capsulodesis lunotriquetral joint wrist, debridement of triangular fibrocartilage all in my right wrist and a tendon sheath release(that was just one surgery) & a lunotriquetral fusion Plus now a wrist fusion |

It is quite possible that the Claims Dept didn't realize that the TENS was for a different body part. With the amount of requests they see, mistakes often happen. Don't hold your breath that they have accepted the other arm. Also, you should expect to be sent for an IME to confirm that the new injury is related to the original injury. |
