If white blood cells chase bacteria, what do they do with it after they catch it? Curious. I also agree pretty awesome!

Sunshine- after the white blood cell catch up to the bacteria they fight the bacteria and start developing antibodies to the bacteria.

Thanks RN....This round of Chemo is knocking Bill's platellets and white cells down so low it's transnfusion time and a shot for the white. I knew the white fought bacteria but didn't know they built antibodies. Learn something new here everyday.

Sunshine, In addition to what RNvic said, the White Blood Cells are also continuously seeking out abnormal cell growths - such as the ones that cause cancer - and clearing them away. |
