Think I'll Move South
I'm am finding the cold weather this year to be very difficult and painful.

The surgeon told me I would not have any weather related pain after the replacement, I can tell you the surgeon is full of bull!

I think my In-Laws had the right ideal when they retired to south Texas.

Bad Boy does the replacement cause you any problems in the cold weather?

The people that tell you the weather has nothing to do with it have never had any problems.

RE: Think I'll Move South
I don't know BK, I was about to start a thread and ask which yankee sent the stuff this way.

This year we had a drought and 35 days over 100 degrees. Heck this week we had warm weather until today. SNOW, what the hecks up with that????? Snow is so rare here that most people can not drive in it. Back in 1985 the city shut down all highways due to a few inches of snow.

Tonight we are supposed to be around 27 degrees and then we start a warm up.

I know, I know, I know. I am just whining about nothing. I know how it is north of here. I use to live in ST. Louis, MO.. And YES, the cold does effect injuried people.

Take Care all.

8-05, Micro laminectomy/disectomy. 10-05 lumbar fusion L5-S1. 2-07 exploritory surgery. 12-07 medical implant, Spinal Cord Stimulator. now receiving SSDI. Jesus died for our sins. Soilders died for our freedom.

So you already are getting the snow , LimboSmile it's heading my way later today. I agree ....... cold, damp and hot, humid both make every injured joint in my body scream.

God is never late.

In the end it doesn't matter how many years were in your life but how much life was in your years.

Still In Limbo

I like you have the increased pain from the cold weather.

Do you see an increase in the nerve pain due to the cold weather?

I ask because I have been having lighting bolts lately, this has happened since it has gotten cold.

Just wondering if it is related to the cold weather or if it is related to something else.

RE: Think I'll Move South
Corpus Christi is a nice place to live, reasonably affordable. The nice thing about south TX besides the weather is that you don't pay taxes on food. Something that our state has never considered.

Implants in a joint tend to ache more during cold weather.

But you can't move, I forbid it.

RE: Think I'll Move South
I can relate to this as well, when we are young and we know some one who is either old and full of arthritis or injured they can usually predict the rain/snow/cold. I used to say bull shot, but now older and injured and arthritis has kicked in I must say it's very true.. I cant predict but once it's here pain levels sky rocket like gas prices....LOL..

I have been trying to talk my family to move south, my side of the family wants to move as well, but my wifes side wont move and she cant go with out them.. Even though we seen more of her mother when they were stationed in Colorado.. this is our third year in our new home and the inlaws have only been here 3 times.....

OMG, I'm starting to boil and blood preasure is rising. I guess its time to take a pill. It just burns my (Jayne's lame attempt to bypass the Bad Word Filter), that she uses this for an excuse, one of these days she will find me missing and be relaxing on a beach in florida/texas anywhere south..... This is a subject for another day maybe a sych,, Sorry Bummer, and the rest of you's for changing subject............

But I here that if you go to a sports store like a ski shop they sell some kick butt socks that keep your feet/ legs really warm and dont make you swet either.. Not sure if they will rise above the knees though...........
