Threatened at work place, a friend
At the dentist, patient next to me, a barrier between us, I noticed her uniform and thought, maybe someone I knew, respected. When they were done working on her I heard her talk and realized that it was a friend.

We talked for a few minutes since she was waiting for her husband. She said she'd call, she'd been attacked by a patient, broken 5 teeth and she'd gotten 6 stitches in her mouth. She worked 3rd shift, luckily she was able to get into the dentist. She was called just before she got to the dentist, told that her employer was going to see about a dental apt next week for her. Next week, 5 broken teeth, and she's pregnant.

She emailed me tonight, she's scared, she will probably loose her job. Her clinical adviser has told her that she was probably the cause for the patient assaulting her, hitting her in the mouth with a remote. That she was wrong for going to a dentist on her own and that she probably won't get her workplace to pay for any of her medical/dental care. Too add to the problem, that she was wrong to say she would probably press charges. Well the charges have been done. My friend did nothing wrong, she was the assaulted, injured party. She was seeking the proper immediate care for her dental problems. She faces probable root canals on most of her teeth that were broken. All she could think of was preventing a infection. Two teeth were broken to the gum line. She was also told not to talk to anyone concerning this incident.

Please pray for my friend, hopefully she'll show up here asking for more help.

Yes, this is my former employer.
BB

prayers going up for your fiend and hope she is able to get the needed care. If the employer continues to denie her care advise her to find a lawyer and quick.

May God send his angels to hold you in his arms

Work comp is no fault; the employer trying to place the blame on her is intimidation and bull!

If her employer fires her due to filling a work comp claim, then this gives the attorney more to work with.

I would think her seeking medical care on her own upfront may be considered emergency care and that may be okay.

Please give your friend the name of our attorney; I believe she will need an attorney upfront.

;)Workmans comp is not a road you want to travel alone. You need a good lawyer,a great family and good friends to lean on.If you make it thru without losing everything you have worked for all your life, you have come out ahead of the game.....Smile
