Auto accident
Was in an auto accident 2 weeks ago today. car has been repaired. I really felt ok but am progressively getting neck pain. shoulder and arm pain and lumbar pain. Now keep in mind this is all part of my WC injuries. I called to have the medical on the auto opened. I don't want anything except some medical care if it's needed. Not sure if I just aggravated everything or what. Not sure if a Chiro who I love can just snap me back in place or if I should have tests done. My neck is pretty messed up from the WC injuries. I am starting to get those dreaded cervical headaches again too. ANy advise. Oh the accident was my fault. I backed into a short pole I couldn't see . It was below my line of vision. Have been in this parking lot 100000 times and could probably drive in it blind folded. Don't ;know how it happened. Life has me pretty shaken right now.

RE: Auto accident
All medical lit would suggest you give it 3 or 4 weeks by which time the minor soft tissue soreness will have resolved in most cases.

RE: Auto accident
Cap sounds much like what I went thru with my auto accident.
Mine was the Tulsa 07 ice storm, a truck hit our vehicle on my side. Still don't know if I hit my head at the time as I did get sick at my tummy (several time (while at the accident) Later that same day I could feel the muscles tensing in my neck and the next day the muscle spasms started in the neck/shoulders along with the headaches. I find muscle relaxers to be a big help, that and the tens unit. My dx was traumatic myofasical. |

RE: Auto accident
Sorry to hear you're not feeling well Cap. I can't remember if you had neck surgery, but I do recall you having shoulder surgery. I am 19 months post cervical surgery and have flare ups of neck pain now and then. It usually subsides wthin a week if I do gentle stretching excercises. Don't hesitate to pursue medcal if you need it. Take care!

RE: Auto accident
Hi all and thanks....Since the insurance co. already fixed my car I had to have a medical claim opened which they did happily.
CC....I do have a cervical injury also. I have been icing and heating, muscle relaxers, stretches and it seems to be getting worse. Spine specialist always told me that one jolt to the neck and I 'd have the same problems I had all over again. It took me two years to tone the pain down before to tolerable. Will probably go to the Chiro and let him put stuff back where it belongs and then maybe a massage or two and take Cyclers advise and give it some more time. I don't have the cervical headache all day but it's at some point everyday. Hubby and I are doing the cooking for thanksgiving. My dishwasher broke yesterday and we just laughed. I hope I can get someone out here to fix it before the holiday OR my daughters are in for a real surprise.
