Accomodating of the non-dominant hand
I have the carpal tunnel and ulnar nerve entrapment of the right side.
I am very dependent of the right hand and am over using it. I am forcing myself to increase the usage of the left hand, and I badly need tips, I am sooooo uncoordinated with the left hand. Does anyone know of any web sites that may be of help. I am looking for fine motor adaptions or modifications in everyday life. Thanks, Bummer Knees |

RE: Accomodating of the non-dominant hand
Years ago I broke my right wrist, it was a struggle from day one. I went to see my doctor and what he said was amazing. Do dishes by hand with your left hand. That simple motion of movement improved the coordination on my left hand whether it was writing or cutting item by more than half.

Thank you Still In Limbo.
My doctor tells me the problems I have comes from long term use of the cane. He also said it really is best to alternate a cane right/left hand. |

RE: Accomodating of the non-dominant hand
It's all about practice. After a couple of days using your left hand you will improve dramatically. My new desk was set up the opposite way of my old one and the mouse was right in the middle of my work area. I taught myself to use my computer mouse left-handed in a few days. Stick with it. You can do it.

Thank you for that information, I do not want this to limit what I do in life.
