RE: Is this really how I'm suppose to be treated??
Realize that it' easy for an employer to find out your past comp history and they may well do so as they whittle the candidate pool. Illegal but routine in some circles. n the other hand the Americans With Disabilities Act prohibits an employer from asking you any medical questions or about health issues including workers comp history. Issues concerning accommodation and who gets to ask are an ever changing murky part of this very poorly written and implemented law so answers are all over the map. With some luck you wont have to deal with any of it and just get the job.

One caveat is your current and future pulmonary function. If you are prone to RADS flare ups and therefore may have need to be out of the work place for medical reason from time to time you should be aware of how FMLA works.

Maint.....you were honest about why you left your job. I don't see why a prosepective employer needs to know more than that.

God is never late.

In the end it doesn't matter how many years were in your life but how much life was in your years.

Programming or troubleshooting? I worked with PLC's and DCS before my injury. Not good at programming but troubleshooting from the I/O cards to the field, my expertise along with Analytical. I worked at a Refinery and a Chemical plant for over 25 years.

Hum; Must be a small place. "Generally" the programming was done by a electrical engineer. One place I worked, we had "skilled" jobs and 2 guys in the Instrument shop went to schools and learned how to program PLC's. I went Skilled Analytical.

Most of the process was ran by a DCS. PLC's were used in smaller applications such as a centrifuge.

I have worked with a Honeywell TDC 2000 but that gives my age away. LOL

Well the hits just keep on coming. I applied for unemployment since my doctor released me to work with restrictions. They denied it because " Your medical condition does not enable you to perform work for which you had prior training or experience. You do not meet the ability requirements of the MES act for the period shown unitl the conditions change." Thats it. the knot I was holding onto at the end the rope just untied.

Keep your head up; You may be knocked down but you have to refuse to be knocked out.

When it seems there is no hope, Thats when the hand of the Lord will move. He will make a way when there seems to be no way.

Continue to put in applications. If you start getting down on yourself, you are only hurting yourself.

Never be to proud to ask for help. There are many Church's that will help if you ask.

It will work out. Be strong and BELIEVE!

RE: Is this really how I'm suppose to be treated??
You're down but you're definitely not out You can apply for reduced or free meds, go to your local pharmacy or your doctor for the forms. Find out about clinics that give care on a sliding scale or for free.

Keep putting in those applications, put in for every assistance you can. Go to temporary agencies, you never know, it might pan out to a permanent job. But initially it will keep you going.

As injured workers we've all been where you're at. Scared, uncertain, broke, sick or injured. God has a reason for everything, it may not always be easy but He is in control. How can you not look up to God when you're laying flat on your back.

I'm praying and pulling for you, you can do it.
