THE CITY THAT NEVER SLEEPS NYC
I been reading since July YOU GUYS ROCK Thank you all God First I got hurt 2 years ago in 2007 on my whole left side resulted in an injury to my left shoulder. So my doctors said I needed shoulder surgery . Went to the hearing and got approved. So the doctors send me back to work until I decided to have the surgery. I waited because I refuse to get it I got worst. I told the doctor my neck was killing me and he said it's connected to the shoulder. My arms hurts so did my legs I thought it was from all the long hours I was working. I went for the left shoulder surgery July 09 and got worst. I told the doctor all my symptoms legs, back, chest, neck and arms hurt so much I can't get up at times. He said we never check your neck and I said no. Findings-C3-C4-C5-C6 and C7 Herniated and damaged Disc C3-C4 and C5 are hitting Spinal Cord. Nerve damage on legs, arms and neck due to 2 years without knowing working. In 3 weeks if the WC or the Insureance don't answer the emergency surgery report done by all the doctors that seen me. By state law they have to do it. For everyone who has this problem please make sure to visit lots of doctors. WHY? some doctors want the easy way out doing fusion through the front and metal or bones to your neck. Once you get this done chances of getting surgery again 65%. My doctor has been in practice for 32 years experience doing the neck and brain surgery and what he does is he shaves down the bone so it could go back in place. Difference front of the neck fusion is 4 hours surgery recover time 1 to 4 months pain stays to a degree not alot of movements on the neck. Back of the neck 11 to 12 hours surgery recover time 6 to 8 months no symptoms all gone and normal movements of the neck once bones heals. I check with 10 doctors only 2 wented to do it from the back of the neck and these 2 had the most experience. My jobs states if Im still disable by Jan 2010 I will be terminated I will have 6 months out in Jan 2010 anyone has experience this please help. |

RE: Termination Advise
having a comp claim does not give you immunity to termination.
FMLA gives an employee 12 weeks of job protection. you can find out about FMLA rules here http://www.dol.gov/esa/whd/fmla/ |

RE: Termination Advise
Sounds like you were mis-diagnois from the start, and had a surgery you didn't need.
These statements are questionable??? (some doctors want the easy way out doing fusion through the front and metal or bones to your neck. Once you get this done chances of getting surgery again 65%.)I had 3 performed... (Back of the neck 11 to 12 hours surgery) Mine took 4 hours... I have had 4 surgeries of the Cervical Spine (neck). Luckily, I didn't need to see 10 doctor's though. I wish and hope the best for you. And welcome to the board. Hope to see plenty of you here. Reply's are intended solely for informational purposes. RE: Termination Advise
I have c2-c5 discs out 6cm. They don't want to operate and I was terminated after being sent to the clinic by my imployer after returning with modified duty the same day. 35 years of service and a quick send off when you can't do the work of 3 anymore.

RE: Termination Advise
Horrible....I resigned after settling my claim because I knew that at 55 with a broken body I could no longer do 3 jobs like I did when I was 32. 23 years led to the broken body. I have counted my losses.
God is never late. In the end it doesn't matter how many years were in your life but how much life was in your years. |
