Honestly, do you really think that anyone who has ask help on this forum has been put on the "back burner" over this topic?
Expressing opinions and disagreeing is natural. I think this is a good topic that is very educational. Maybe you should chill a little?

I noticed you only pick certain names above concerning helping IW's. Personally, I find that offensive but I cannot let it discourage me.
Hopefully, I can be a help aid in the future and win your favor. All I want to do is help a IW who is going through issues I have seen and been through. I have much to learn but I also have been around the block.

How would you feel if someone never gave you a chance to help or be a part of this forum? I feel you have closed the door except for a few you have been with for years on this forum.

Anyway, No caps, no underlining. No arguing.

I have not read the entire thread, but just enough to feel that some clarification is needed. First and foremost, unless you have read the bill that is before congress, or unless you have ever worked as a healthcare administrator or Director of Nursing who ran the BIG budgets and understand what EXACTLY eats up health care and creates the BIG extraordinary $$ per capita that this country spends then I don't think making any arguments in any direction is valid. Another valid point is to understand that even though there is a program before congress that shows a BIG $ expenditure to implement, does it really cost the tax payors anymore money than what gets buried every year in health care losses? These losses do not generally start off with a line placed in any budget, but will show up on our variance reports at the end of each year. Research this question, then lets all talk.

Also the first term I learned to used during my Ph.d program was "argue" your points to state your case. Research is just one big argument. If there is a hypothesis such as in a quantitative research then the argument is for the hyposthesis. If there is a research question such as in a qualitative research then the argument is typically as far as I understand it based on a researchers observations which can often include their biases. Often we all will use the word argue and then assume that it has a negative intention or meaning, when in reality it only speaks to a persons use of words to make their point. Everyone has a right to make a point, but no one has the right to ridicule or name call or anything else during a good argument as I have learned to use the word. Conflict management teaches us that conflict is positive when it is managed by open minded people who all come to the discussion table with a goal to make their points, find the holes in their points through listening to others perspectives and then to be willing to come to some reasonable and understandable conclusion together. This conclusion may be simply to leave the discussion with respect for each other and agreeing to disagree.

This is most likely one of the most important pieces of legislature of our time, therefore it does warrant a lot of research on all of our parts and discussion of our points of interest. Unfortunately, senators also, will judge this legislature based on their own specific needs ... or at least their will be some bias there as a result. Personally a healthcare program as is being discussed here is not going to benefit me and will most likely hurt me and the benefits I enjoy today. Did I earn them, most likely yes, but am I more important than the masses in our population who does not have insurance. What I think is in my head and in my heart ...this is just a question... research this ... whether it is what this country needs or not, I don't have or pretend to have the answer. I do believe however, that something must happen and it must happen soon for the sakes of all of our children and grandchildren. They are what matter to me... all of our children and all of our grandchildren..they have a right to live as we have or better than we have. Red

And I rest my case. This should have been moved off topic in the first place...it was a good discussion with alot of viewpoints, knowledge, etc for us all to learn from and somehow, somewhere turned into an arguement AGAIN> I'm sure everyone knows by now that I am all for competition in the health insurance industry. I feel out of state buying would be great. More equality. Do I believe one group deserves health insurance more than another, no. Veterans have lifelong VA coverage. I know it's different in different areas. So is everything else. As Jayne said my husband pays $87 for his medicare supplement while her parents pay $250. Is that because I live in a more populated area??? Health insurance needs to be competitive, we need and deserve choices. Not a monopoly.

Sadly this thread has run it's course for me now.

You're Right, this is another Thread gone in a Totally Wrong Direction, and it should be on Off Topic, as it doesn't Directly Address an Injured Worker Subject, it's More Asking for Opinions on Health Care!! But I Tried, and for Some for the Last Time, I Honestly Believe Some will Never get it, nor will They Learn Manners and Respect in a Conversation! Rolleyes
