I went to a Urologist last year. When I got the statement from my private insurance company, I noticed he had charged a $100 dollar office fee and a $236 dollar cosultation fee! WTH! He did no consultation with me. The Insurance company had paid for this! I called the Insurance company and they said there was nothing they could do about it!

I got the statement for my second visit and there was a $400 dollar charge for a procedure that was not done. I was fed up with this and called this Urology Clinic. After me threatenig to report them, they dropped this charge.

I believe the system as a whole is corrupt. I will never use this Urologist again. He along with many Doctors and Hospitals bleed the Insurance carriers for every nickel. This is what Congress needs to stop 1st along with the high premiums!
My opinion.

boy u changed your tune thanks oldmannnnnn

I have not changed; I have always said Health Care cost are out of control and Congress should 1st work to fix this problem.

Jane, I am glad to hear that you and your husband have excellent health coverage. At the begining of your post you say"we have earned it". Your husband is ex-miltary, are you? Are you saying that John Doe who has Aids has not earned health insurance, there for he does not deserve health insurance? Maybe John Doe was injured at work, and lost his job, making it impossable to pay the premuims a healthy person could not afford much less some one with a pre-existing condition.

In another post you mention how your daughter while in college with no health insurance ,had to seek medical treatment. You said, "when the hospital found out she had no insurance they sent their charity person to fill out paperwork, Becca didn't pay a dime, state run programs are there. Of course you get the student docs and the no frills room. Again I am asking where are we going to get the money to pay for the insurance program"?
Jane we all pay for state run programs! Not only with taxes, you can also throw in higher hospital costs, because even though they are state run programs they need money to keep the doors open just like any other state agency. Then the costs are passed to insurance companies, who are not going to let those profit levels drop, so guess who ends up paying for it in the long run.

RE: helthcare
Senator McCain, when Running for President Mentioned Many Times to Allow Americans the Option to Buy Health Care Across State Lines, in Other Words, allow Competition. Just as an Example: There is only One Cable Company that I can Buy My T.V. Service and Internet from, and Believe Me they Take Advantage of it!! Satellite is Available Naturally, but as far as Hard Lined Cable Services only One. Anything that can be Accomplished to Allow the American People to be able to Choose Their Own Ins. Co. at Competitive Rates, and Choose the Coverages They Feel They will need, is a Better System than We have Now! In Pa. (I'm not Sure if it was a Federal Program) there was a Hill-Burton Act, that Covered Patients Hospital Bills that Needed Emergency or Long Term Care, now We have what is Called the S.T.A.M.P. Act, (The Actual Name Escapes Me at the Moment), that Bases the Cost Paid for Out Patient, Labs., and Critical Care Based on the Individuals Income. I don't want to Buy My Insurance from the Government for My Wife, I already do for Myself with Medicare, I just want a Cost Effective Way to get Coverage for Her! I am making Payments to the Local Dentist on a $1300.00 Bill for Her to Get Her Teeth Fixed, and then We are going for Glasses for Her!Wink

Governemnt I think many are missing something when saying governemnt, (federal or state). Who or what is "governemnt"?

We are, ever single american person is governemnt.

Government of the people, by the people, for the people.
We are People, we are goverment

frito I dont ignore you I disagree with you and there for you get angry at me....NW guy we earned it my husband was in the military I moved an entire household and 5 kids every 2-3 years and changed jobs at every base....Took over all 5 kids and the household when he went to war twice.he earned it...both times I took him to the airport knowing I may never see him again...I earned it.....medicade I also earned with 6 busted disc......Becca was covered by a catholic teaching charity.....I do not believe the goverment owes me or mine healthcare or a home or food....we must earn them....when Becca went in we fully expected to pay the bill our self......We were in a catholic teaching hospital...they covered it....she was a human guinie pig for students....she was given a choice.....all out patient care she pays for....teaching hospitals are all over......
Frito why do you think the goverment owes you free healthcare? I believe across the state line insurance is good idea...but like car insurance different states different rates......Caps husband pays alot less for his BCBS medicare gap insurance than Mom and Dad do here in Okla....his I believe his is 96 dollars My folks pay 250 dollars each.....I believe hospitals have more competition in Philly so they pay less maybe? I dont have all the answers but I know my family cant pay anymore taxes we are tax poor now.....

RE: helthcare
or taking away the right to sue? since most Docs, hospitals and drug companies claim Mal practice insurance is making costs so hi? But some want "free" healthcare and the right to sue.
