What is happening for Halloween????
Hi all... I thought I would start a thread talking about our halloween or fall plans. I will start by sharing some pics of a dinner party I had for Del's family. There were a total of 24 people. We had appetizers at 3 pm, soup and salad at 4:30 pm, main course at 6 pm, then a collection of deserts at 8 pm. I decorated the house for halloween and then set up crafts for the kids to do in between eating. This always keeps them all out of trouble. I two age groups of kids.. 3 teenagers, and 4 6 and under so I had two different groups of crafts to be done. I love the fall, because I love the rich colors that it brings, evenly distributed weather, and light heartedness fun of our holidays during this time period...I guess I should like it since most of my immediate family have birthdays in October, me, my two son in laws, and Brianna. Del's two brothers were born in October also. Here are some pics of our fun in my new house...notice Chris I didn't say it was a home, but I do believe it is becoming that as the memories begin to build.

[attachment=655] In this pic are two of Del teenage nieces enjoying pumpkin pie and whip cream. They are sitting in my dinning room.

[attachment=656] In this pic... my sister in law who also has red hair is doing dishes. I could not get her out of the kitchen. She knew I had been up all night to do this and wanted me to rest and she would now take over..she and I are wonderful together. My kitchen is a mess due to all the food coming and going out of it that day.

RE: What is happening for Halloween????
[attachment=657] This is a pic of a halloween train ... the train is a cake, and the house is made of gingerbread. The house was bought and then put together. The cake was made of course. I didn't really get the time to do a good job on it, but thought I would show it to you as is. The kids loved it.

[attachment=658] As you can see from this picture, the train is setting on a large cabinet in our eating room or nook. It is a very large eating room and we enjoy this room a lot. From this room is usually where I take the pic's of the deer outside. This pic is taken during the party so paper cups are still sitting around. Red

RE: What is happening for Halloween????
What are you all doing for this fall and its holidays? Do you have any plans? How many trick or treaters do you usually have and plan for. I am unsure if I will have any due to the distance from the city and being up on this mountain. If you have some pics please share them. I love this time of you and hope you enjoy also. I am going to take some pics of the outside and changing colors later today to share. Love Red

RE: What is happening for Halloween????
Looks like a fun get together, I don't do anything for Halloween, I used to take the grandaughter on a haunted hay ride, but she has outgrown that now. I live in the boonies and haven;t had any tric-treaters for years, But My day is Thanksgiving with my son's, mom, sisters etc. I love to cook, Last year even had the neighbors in. I will start making plans soon.... Was that train your early Birthday cake?? I didn;t see any candles........

Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass.
It's about learning to dance in the rain.

Ah Halloween, my wifes favorite day... It's her birthday and I married a witch.LOL. My son is almost 16, even last year he was very bored of it and just took my neice tricker treating.. We usually go out to eat and then later we go to the casino, they have a halloween costume party there and its fun and we get to gamble a bit.. But my favorite day is Thanksgiving also, spending time with the family & the darn inlaws...............

RE: What is happening for Halloween????
Halloween is the best day ever. It was my Dads birthday and I just LOVE everything about it. Every year I sit here with a huge bowl of candy and no one shows up. Those of you who have been here can probably figure out why. Dave always says "Hun The Great Pumpkin isn't going to come again this year." Well this year he is going to because two little boys moved in down the road. Last year we were going out of town so a couple of days before Halloween I took them each a big pumpkin filled to the top with candy. When I gave it to them the little one said, "Mom aren't we suppose to go to the houses to get candy." Everyone have a Happy Halloween.

GOD BLESS OUR COUNTRY AND OUR PRESIDENT!

RE: What is happening for Halloween????
bronco...my grand daughter Bri was born on Halloween and I was born the day before, so my husband use to say he married a "want a be witch." In other words I didn't quit make it...lol. I didn't dress as a witch on Halloween either. My mom and I always put beads on a gunny sack that we bought our cornmeal flour etc in at the co ops in town so that I could be an indian girl. I don't think I have ever seen any indian girls with red hair and freckles however, until there was ME. lol....

Tuffy... I don't think we will have any trick or treaters either..we live only 8 minutes from town but there are few and far in between any other homes around here. I can't see another house from my house.

RNvic... take it easy with this move..it is so hard to get it all together. My biggest issues was all the boxes sitting around while we were trying to get them unpacked and put away. Similar to the boxes sitting around in my craft room when you came to visit and Del had just moved us back from Oregon...lol.... I tripped so many times over the past month and you can't fall again... it is too hard on you so take care of yourself. Does all this mean a new dialysis group... ???? I hope so.

jayne and sweet tooth... have fun on your camping trip....not together and I know that that would be more fun.

Backache, we all saw your pic of your new bar at the castle and that was a good hint that halloween would be a favorite holiday. Have a great holiday with your family. It was very nice what you did for those kids.
