what some of you newbys dont know is I worked for the Salvation Army for 10 years before I got hurt...I busted my tail to get the needy what they needed...But I would get really pissed when I couldnt get help for those that really needed it and others abused it...I dont worry about what 1171 said she is having a bad day.....but to say I judge all on foodstamps is wrong. I say it is wrong for old people to do without food they need to pay for meds while some people on food stamps buys candy,chips and pop....and get free meds...it is wrong wrong wrong......buy good food with them not junk food......it that makes me heartless then color me heartless....but I stand by it I am not judging those that need it just those that abuse it.....
;)Workmans comp is not a road you want to travel alone.You need a good lawyer,a great family and good friends to lean on.If you make it thru without losing everything you have worked for all your life,you have come out ahead of the game.....

Yeah what Jayne said.
I am not ashamed to say I get food stamps though not much, I spend it wisely. I do not buy junk food, I do by alot of fruits, veggies, meat, rice, turkey(instead of hamburg) I don't buy my son soda. Milk and juice is all he gets oh and water. I cook every day and I don't even buy french fries, I buy potatos and cut them into FF's I bake them.( I have a machine I got from work years ago) I make my own tortillas and I buy baged beans and boil them myself. Since the juice I get is too strong for my son, I water it down. Not to get more but it gives him a tummy ache to drink it pure. I make alot of spanish meals and beans and potatos is a big part of that. Plus avacado and plantains. I buy white rice but if you do different things to it, You can have yellow rice, or red rice. Very yummy. Well I will go just wanted to say I agree with Jayne |
