How American Health Care Became Broken...
#1
Be careful what you ask for.....

very interesting story about how research in one small town uncovered startling insights into how health care in America became broken.
http://www.scpr.org/news/2009/10/08/tell...ton-maine/

"The patients in the high-spending regions were getting about 60 percent more care; 60 percent more days in the hospital; twice as many specialist visits," Fisher says. "And yet when we followed patients for up to five years, if you lived in one of these higher-intensity communities, your survival [rate] was certainly no better, and in many cases a little bit worse.
......
For most Americans this is an incredibly difficult idea to accept: It's hard to understand that more care isn't necessarily better for you.

But study after study has borne out the truth of this completely anti-intuitive conclusion. In fact, Fisher and other researchers estimate that almost one-third of the care given in our country today is that kind of care — care that isn't really helping people. "

As strange as my next question is, it seems a need;

Has anyone ever asked a person of need, poor, or sucking up on a State system how they feel about Health Care? Do they want it? Are they willing to pay as little as $30.00 a month for it?

If they are willing to say pay $30.00 a month for it, then we don't need HealthCare Reform, and all these people have to do, is look into their own State for Insurance coverage. Many States have these progams.

Ever guess who is going to pay for HealthCare Reform? Well extreme taxing on the current Health Insurance we pay for now is one of them. The shifting of that will increase what we pay now. Medicare and Medicade will fund a portion.

Reform will charge medical fee's to providers at 5% over what Medicare pays. Find a doctor then that will take it.

Health Care Reform should be done at State levels, and each State regulate it for the needy person. Get these people back to work, any work, if on a State level Aide Program. If there is no work, have them work for the city or State, at no income, for their getting paid already to sit on their butts and get free cell phones, free food, free schools, a free place to live, and on and on.

Our taxes are paying for people to sit and abuse a system that is made to help them during tough times, and was not made for a life long use.

1171, never would I say for children; the disabled and such. My comments are made to those that abuse a system, made to help during tough times of their life.

If on a State Aide or City Aide program, and have healthy childern and such that go to school, let their non-working parients work free of charge for the school, like crossing gaurds and safe school programs. Please, in my area of Illinois, I see the major portion of the abuse. Where the ones that need it the most then suffer from it, because they don't know the angles like the abusers do.

My comments are made for abusers, not the needy.

1171, I have to say I done my little research, such as ask a few of the State Aide people, on what they thought of Healthcaere reform.

Thier answer was, they don't like it, because they feel it will reduce their monthly intake they are now getting.

Then we ask who broke the system, well the abusers most certainly Broke it.

not true 1171...we spent 7 years in Germany with a national health care system...they had NO WELFARE SYSTEM of free money requardless...child care was covered by and controlled by the goverment you had no reason not to work if you couldnt find work they found it for you sweeping streets or scrubbing sidewalks...if you needed clothes for your kids you sent in paperwork with your kids sizes and they sent out a clothes box...you went to the ER and was triaged if it wasnt an emergency you were sent home...most all treatment was done by a pharmacy tec to include pregnancy tests I was treated for a migrain by the druggest given 2 pills with mineral water...worked better than anything I have been given by an american Doc...same with an oviarian cysts it was fun(for the tec) he put his fingers inside found the cyst and smacked my belly popping the lemon sized cyst.....scary what the pharmacy tecs can do over there....but you also cannot sue for mal practice either and where is this great country full of sue happy people gonna be then? be very careful what you ask for you just may get it.......altho I sure would like more of that migrain med however it isnt deemed to be safe in the U.S. so I cant get it shipped in...even if it got rid of the migrain without any of the side effects of narc meds..in fact I was back to work witin 30 min and no migrain....
........I love cats, I just cant eat a whole one by myself......
