Designated Doctor Appt
I went to my DD appt. today. This was nothing compared to the RME appt. that I had. The doctor chosen by the state of Texas was really very kind and caring. It was not a physical contact evaluation. All he did was talk to me and look at my medical records. He didn't have a copy of the RME report so I gave him one. He told me first off that he didn't quite understand why I was being sent to him at this point so soon after surgery. Obviously I needed more time to heal. I explained all that had happened with my employer and them forcing me back to work with the threat of losing my job and my pushing the neurosurgeon to allow me to try. After 3 days I was back at the neurosurgeon's office and he was taking me back off of work. IC is using this as an excuse to stop monetary benefits. He told me that now everything made more sense and he would be getting that started back up for me with the report that he would turn in. He told me that my neurosurgeon seems to have my best interests at heart and is doing everything that he should be but we need more time to allow me to recuperate and to continue medical treatment.
So now I wonder what the IC is going to use for an excuse. My neurosurgeon, their RME doc and the DD all say the same thing. I guess maybe now finally I should be getting my checks again - I'll keep ya'll posted and let ya know if the IC comes up with a new strategy to keep from paying. Deb |

RE: Designated Doctor Appt
Deb, actually this sounds very good. I hope they don't do something else to avoid paying you. This whole workman's compensation is non sense to me. Just to many games they play. You should not even have to worry whether they are going to pay you after this, but I see you do. All I can say, is that this is a disgrace. I hope it all works out right for you.

RE: Designated Doctor Appt
Thanks everyone! Hopefully my updating things as they happen will help someone else in their claim or at least make them aware of the games WC plays. I'll keep updating as things happen.

RE: Designated Doctor Appt
Great News Deb! You stay strong and keep up the fight, it sounds to me like you have them backed into a corner, and they will have no choice but to pay!! Good Job Girl!! Persistence and Patience is free, and that's what it takes to get what is rightfully yours out of this system they call w/c. When they find out you are not going to cower and run away, they may start to do the right thing because they know they have a FIGHTER on their hands!! I hope all goes well for you from this point on, and please keep us informed!!

RE: Designated Doctor Appt - Updated
Just wanted to let everyone know that the wait for my TTB payments is finally over. The IC finally sent me a check and reinstated benefits. I haven't received a check since the last week in May. IC only paid for the month of July so I am still going to have to fight for June but at least it has been reinstated.
