Injured worker in Illinois

Hi everyone WOW reading everything on here is a bit overwhelming and very sad. I'm just another statistic, I was injured in march 09 I was hit by a car at work on a motor scooter coming out of a bay door the car was driving parallel with the doors in a no parking area . The injuries i received thank you very much by the customer for stupidly pulling up to block the bay door's has been very debilitating the pain I'm feeling in my back and hips leg are a cross between having a kidney stone and stepping on a twisted ankle . I saw one specialist, who sent me to PT first day they did there usual checking of my basically what I could do , that did not go well so then they put that electro stimulating heating pad on me which felt like a ton .My hole back started having violent spasms . So I told my lawyer and ortho specialist this type of treatment is not acceptable So we set up a appointment with a different specialist nero surgeon when I got their they said nope cant see you wc decided to not approve it and wanted me to come and see their ime so I did then he released me back to work no restrictions and stop paying me there is no way I can go back to turning wrenches or anything right . so we filed a 19b . that was in may 09 and finally the end of October I get to go see the arbitrator the owe me 6 months of back pay , my lawyer doesn't get any of that right? if I win I need to see somebody I have no insurance no job now and no money to live or anything I do have food card , oh boy ! i cant barley eat to much in pain I'm getting sick .. sorry for going on like this lawyer just tells me to hang on ..I have no one to talk to thank you for letting me vomit on you .

Don't hold your breath. I'm from IL. Filed a 19b in feb 08 and I've still not received a dime. Had my hearing back in Nov 08, got that answer in March 09. Employer appealed. Had appeal hearing in July and got that answer two weeks ago. Everything has been awarded as WC but still no money to me. I meet with my lawyer this afternoon to see what we do now. Sorry but I'm not in a good mood today but I can say I sure hope yours goes better then mine has. The one thing I know for sure is do what you can to get any needed medical treatment. Your health is the most important part, I know going without money makes it very hard. Your employer knows this and that is why they fight this sometimes. Most do pay what they owe and help the injuried get back to a full and productive life but then there are cases like mine were I'm the last thing on the list. They get joy out of screwing us but everybody stands before God at some time.

Forgot to add your lawyer does get part of any backpay he had to help fight for.

Your lawyer has to do extra work so that is why they get 20% of it. Sad but true

Attorneys are entilled to a percentage of any money (back-pay) they have to fight to get you.

If you didn't have an Attorney, how would you get any money? See the point. You would pay 20% now, or 30% to 50% some other day. So, if you think about it, it is cheaper to pay your Attorney that you hired.

It is my opinion, and advise;

Read your Attorney - Client Contract. It explains all these issues in such contract.

I just never understand, why people don't read their own contracts, but, I do know when in pain, reading is one of the last things we wish to do.

Well I see your point and wouldn't disagree , I was hoping that wasn't the case seeing that it was something that was mine and i was already getting before it was taken. And for your information your right I didn't fully read my contract... I trust that he'll do whats right for me and not bend me over like i'm all ready getting from wc. seeing that he's my neighbor . I now where he lives .... lol If my lawyer is reading this i'm joking I know doing me right.
