Thank you Still In Limbo & Jayne

The surgeon said I have irritation of the ulmer nerve of the right hand, reason for the burning.

And the thumb problems on the left hand; he said to keep doing the exercises and to see him in 6 weeks, he will then made a decision if more surgery is needed.

??????

I'm sure your story was meant to be instructional but.......

Cycler
I would like to share a story with you.
My husband and I adopted our new born daughter when she was 5 days old.
I noticed her not doing the things other babies did at her age.
When she was 5 months old I took her to a peds neurologist.
After testing we learned our daughter was had cerebral palsy, was deaf blind, had cysts thru the brain, and would be medically fragile.

My daughter required total around the clock care. My husband & I paid her medical bills with no outside assistance. We provided around the clock care for many years until she qualified for in home care supports. We did what any parent would do.

Shortly after my daughter was diagnosised I started looking for support groups for parents of disabled children. No groups were available in my area so after attending training with the assistance of the of the special education director, teachers, and other parents a support group was founded.
(Today this is a parent-to-parent agency that receives United Way funding)

In my daughters life she had over 144 admissions to hospitals, some for a day or 2, and sometimes for weeks. Many of her admissions were at Shriners Hospital in St Louis.

I have learned thru beng a hospital parent how to communicate with the medical profession. And I have taken on a couple of doctors that needed a lesson on communication with kindness.

Cycler you may get your kicks out of being rude to others but it dosen't belong on this forum. You are very informative and have much needed information to share, please try and do it in a more positive way!

RE: Returning to the surgeon
Bummer,
I didnt know you had adopted your daughter.....I am curious what made you want to adopt? We have 5 adopted children but we never set out to adopt any...the first 2 were foster children with us and when they become adoptable the state said because they were a family unit and not newborns there chance of even being adopted were slim much less get to stay together so we as a family decided to adopt them so they could stay together......the other 3 were adopted for a simular reason as one was half black and a group of 3 again we adopted to keep them together and because we had once again fallen in love with them....
As far as the other he seems I believe to thrive on bull kaka.......he is lucky he isnt in a room with your honey......

Jayne

I have 5 children.

The oldest is my birth son.

My 2nd child, Amber was adopted at birth, I shared her story above.

My 3rd, a duaghter was adopted at birth. Denny has LD, ADHD, & Dyslexia.

My 4th, is my niece and I have legal gaurdianship of her. Breanna has ADHD & Bipolar.

My youngest, a son has been with us since he was 4 day old when we picked him up at the children's home. Cody has autism, low muscle tone, seizure disorder, & asthma. His adoption became final when he was 2 yrs.

All were private adoptions, none of the children have medical cards or receive adoption subsidy.
