comp carrier difficulties
I got injured in october of last year, wound up with rtc surgery and a cervical fusion/diskectomy, the company I work for has been really good on getting me set up with fantastic drs and pt, the only problem is the IC is really lousy and has been messing me over on mileage reimbursements for all the trips back and forth to drs, pt, etc.
I've tried to point out their errors to them but all of that has fallen on deaf ears. The Ic has continuosly denied medication prescribed by my drs. It's like fighting an uphill battle against a bunch of office morons, I know I have rights in all of this but don't have a clue where to go to get my rights enforced. Would anybody possibly have some suggestions or be able to point me in the right direction? Thanx!!

I do know that when an injury is reported there is supposed to be some paperwork generated like an accident/injury incident report or some such. As for a lawyer, I have spoken with a couple of them the only thing they have told me is that most wc lawyers here in Wi. are reluctant to get involved unless there is a dispute as to percentage of disability, so I am pretty much on my own for all the rest.

Smile RE: comp carrier difficulties
Starr,

Welcome of our family forum! My claim started out and I found out no reports had been filed, although they had an accident report that I completed. When I found this out my time to file was about to expire. I had to run get a lawyer to file real fast. All worked out well with the lawyer. You need to follow up and make sure the paperwork has been done properly. You stated your company has gotten you good doctors but that is your company. What about you WC carrier? Ask to see it and get a copy of what they filed to WC. Also find out who your carrier is and make a call to them also. I am one that believes in lawyers to fight WC cases. Good Luck, Take care and God Bless!

starr:
here's a couple places to find out more about Wisconsin's work comp rules
http://www.dwd.state.wi.us/wc/workers/wo...rights.htm

the only recourse to solving disputes with the carrier (besides getting the employer involved) is to go to comp court.
http://www.dwd.state.wi.us/wc/workers/he...appens.htm

they have some more downloadable publications here
