RE: Lien question
1171 (the lien provides them legal protection as it has to be delt with before the proceeds of any setllement/finalization are dispersed)
That is only if the issue is addressed. Without the Lien, it may never get addressed, as I have seen in the past. I had asked my Doctor's office to apply a Lien, to make sure the payment will be made. If not, I will be left holding the bag for the payment. Leaving them to sue me in civil court, which then I counter a suit against said employer. In Illinois, the Law for work states, the employer is the payee when sent to a doctor, with the forms from the employer. Must be sent by employer, with their form though to file a civil suit counter suit to work in your behalf. Reply's are intended solely for informational purposes. They are based on personal opinions, experience, or research and are "not to be taken as fact or legal advice", otherwise, always consult an attorney or a doctor. |
