I could just SCREAM!
Ok sorry for making a new post for this but I wasn't really sure if it fit in any of my other post.
I just called CVS to see if WC had approved my scripts or not and she checked and got back on the phone and said no they did not. She then goes on to tell me that the pharmacist just told her that the IC called last week and told them that they are NOT going to approve them!!! I am so mad right now I just want to scream!!!!!!!! Sorry I just needed to vent a little. |

RE: I could just SCREAM!
if you have no other resources and can't afford your health care here are a couple of resources
http://www.needymeds.org/ http://findahealthcenter.hrsa.gov/ you should also contact your union; they can often help members in an emergency situation. your church may be able to refer you to local resources for support or necessary medical help. contact your county social sevices agency for referals and application for government benefits. if you are experiencing bouts of frustration, anger and depression you may need professional counselling. consider contacting your physician for a referal. |

RE: I could just SCREAM!
Thanks 1171 the thing is I can get my meds through my husband coverage but his employer knows that I was hurt at work and he is already giving hubby stink over the MRI's being gotten through their coverage. I don't want to cause him any troubles with his employer so I have stopped getting anything to do with WC with their health insurance.
The thing about the union is my company doesn't have one. It was voted on last year and it was voted against so no help for me there . I just think it is so unfair that anyone else should have to help me with something that the IC is supposed to take care of and I just hate asking anyone else. It really makes me feel like bum.I have been going downhill towards depression with all of this going on and I am being treated for it. That is going on my husbands ins. because even though it may be due to all this WC stuff that is something we aren't going to let get delayed on treatment. Thanks! |

RE: I could just SCREAM!
Please do what you can to get any treatment you need. Your health is more important then anything else and if this is ruled back under WC they should have to pay his insurance back for anything they did..
Depression hits a large number of us. From them delaying and denying so many things it doen't help our mental health. It's bad enought to just be in pain, adding the games they play gets to everyone in some way or another. I need to be seeing somebody now but just can't afford to do it, so it just builds. |

RE: I could just SCREAM!
Tired...you can get treatment from your husband's insurance legally. When the Dr. bills the insurance co. along with it they submit a notice of denial. Your husband's insurance co. will then pay for all of your medical and put a lien on the WC IC> Many of us have had to do this including me and my husband.

RE: I could just SCREAM!
Manley you are right my health is more importany than anything else. My fear is that hubby will either get fired or lose his insurance if I keep using it for my work comp stuff
. If either of that happens we will be in real trouble. They have already paid for 3 MRI's and we know those aren't cheap. It sounds like depression is a pretty common thing when it comes to work comp . That is just sad because it doesn't have and it shouldn't be if they were actually trying to help us and get us better. I guess they are to busy thinking everyone is a fraud instead of realizing that most of us are hurt and are just wanting to get better so we can get back to work.

RE: I could just SCREAM!
Some good news this morning....I left a voicemail to my attorney last night about how unhappy I was and the problem with the meds and PT. I wasn't using my usuall friendly voice either so I guess he got the hint because he called me first thing this morning
. He said that he called my adjuster yesterday and she was out so he left a voicemail then he called again this morning and left another voicemail. He told me that if I did not hear from him by tomorrow to call him back. He said that they are not denying my claim but they are taking a unusual and very slow route with it.Hey Cap I just seen your post....They have not ssubmitted anything they just called the pharmacy and said we are not going to approve this. Just like with the PT it was denied over the phone. I have heard alot of bad things about this IC from alot of IW and I have a feeling this is going to be a fight for every tiny thing. |

RE: I could just SCREAM!
could be...most that are like that are hoping you will get tired or discouraged and go away...I also used my husbands insurance...when my husband called and told them what was going on they said get what you need doing and WE will go after the WC which I did and they did....then it wasnt me and my one lawyer it was My husbands IC and their lawyers agaisnt WC and their lawyers....your husbands job site shouldnt even know when you use your insurance unless they are self insured....all honeys IC wanted was a denial letter from them......then the fight was on but I was left out of it...funny thing withen a short time WC started paying.....
;)Workmans comp is not a road you want to travel alone. You need a good lawyer,a great family and good friends to lean on.If you make it thru without losing everything you have worked for all your life, you have come out ahead of the game.....

RE: I could just SCREAM!
Tired...do you have a notice of denial??? If not have all Dr.s PT facilities , etc bill the WC carrier . The IC in turn will submit a notice of denial. Then the facility, Dr. Ect. bills your personal health insuracnce along with the notice of denial. It's done all the time and the insurance co. figure it out in the end. Jayne is right. Your husband's employer should never know when/what the insurance is used for.

RE: I could just SCREAM!
I agree with the rest. How on earth does the boss know what is being billed to the IC? Everything is patient confidentiality and he should not know anything unless someone is telling him. I am right now using my husbands insurance for meds because of them denying my medications a long time ago after a IME where the doctor said I do not need medication.
Hang in there and do not let them get you down. They did that to me this afternoon with denying my WC benefits for good now after a IME I went for to see if I need a SCS. It hurt me really bad with the notes from the doctor I went to see, but remembered in my head that I knew this would happen when I stepped foot in his office. They do it to us all. carpal tunnel recurrence/ neuropathy / RSD. 1/29/07 injury date. Permanent. PIR settlement 8/4/08 10% |
