Just a little confused again
I know I know nothing new huh Tongue

I was just thinking about all the doctors that my PTP is sending me to and I was trying to figure out some things. Why is she having me to go to a PM doc and also a ortho surgeon who specializes in the back? I understand one or the other but why is she sending me for the ESI's and the spine specialist also? In the beginning I was afraid that surgery might be the case but then she sent me to the PM who said ESI so that made me feel better, but now with having to go to a spine specialist makes me worry again. Ugh I am just to much of a worry wort aren't I!

Oh and a tiny little nothing really update. I went back to see my PTP today over my shoulder. She said that she thinks there may be nerve impengent do to the pain that shoots down into my elbow, but the popping she cannot explain. She is sending me to another ortho doc to have it checked. It because it pops every time I move it and it has since the injury and hurts like crazy to. I was just shocked that she could hear it. You know how it is when it's your body you can hear things no one else can, but looks like this is loud enough others hear it to. Hmmmmm maybe that is why people look at me when I move my arm in a public place a little embarassing now that I know lol.

RE: Just a little confused again
I have always seen a spine specialist along with the PM Dr. until the spine specialist has released me. I saw both for about two years unitil th eOrtho was sure suregery wouldn't help me. I'm glad your Dr. picke d up on your shoulder. You will hopefully get some help now.

God is never late.

RE: Just a little confused again
So there is still a possibility for surgery then? Sad I am just just a chicken about going under for any reason. My PM doctor said he didn't THINK I would need surgery, but I am wondering how would he know for sure just my looking at the MRI report?

Oh that reminds me I had yet another question I have been wanting to ask. Does anyone know if the ortho doctor will look at my MRI images on the cd they gave me? Also is there any possibility that a ortho surgeon might see something on the images that whoever read it in the first place missed?

I am only asking because my middle back (right where the bra strap goes) is still killing me and is burning like crazy, but yet they say the thoracic is fine.

RE: Just a little confused again
My Dr sent me to an Ortho to, as i have to have surgrey on my cervical again. The Ortho had an Cat Scan ordered because I can no longer have an MRI, I have a SCS implanted. When I took the ortho the cd of the neck and spine he looked at it and he aslo took his own x-rays in his office. He found things on his x-rays that did not show up on the cd. as he took a pic of my neck with my mouth open. so he shot the pic though the open mouth. It showed the dislocated hardware in my neck that was not picked up on the cd. So seeing an Ortho is not a bad thing, maybe your PCP wants to rule out some things.

Cervical Fusion 2003, c5-c6. Herniated and damaged Disc L1- L4-L5 S1. Lumbar Spinal Cord stimulator implant 09-2008. Cervical ACDF revision with hardware c4-c5-c6-c7 Sept 2009.
SSDI approved 3-2010. NOW OFFICIALY RETIRED

Cervical thank you soooooo much! That actually makes alot of since and also answered my question on if I should take in the cd or not Smile

Since you have had surgery (even though a different area) maybe you can tell me. Is it as bad as what I think it would be?

RE: Just a little confused again
Most women will tell you that the bra is our enemy if we've had a shoulder problem. Most of us here have had surgery to be made worse. I think you're talking about the back of your bra??? is that why you mention thoracic? That could be shoulder or one of the lower disks in the neck. A pinched nerve maybe. My orthos have always looked at the disk themselves. Until the spine specialist releases you I believe there is always a chance of surgery.

Yes I was talking about the back of the bra that is where my back hurts and burns badly. I also have horrible right shoulder pain which it being checked out in Sept. Smile . So it is a possibility that if there is something wrong with my shoulder that it could cause pain in that area of my back? The only disc in my neck that they said had any issue at was c3/4 and they said it was only a small bulge. Now that really has me wondering if it could be my shoulder causing all this upper back and right arm pain hmmmm.

I seen your comment on the surgery but I am going to pretend I didn't lol

RE: Just a little confused again
From that pic the c3/4 is the area that I am hurting and also where my disc bulge is, but they said that it was a very small bulge and was not affecting any nerve.

The area that is hurting in my back would be somewhere between the T5 and T7 area but they said that my thoracic was fine so that confuses me.

Another thing that I forgot to mention earlier is that I have a numbness and tingling in my arm all the way down to my outside 3 fingers. It feels really weird and alot like my leg does when it goes numb. I keep finding myself holding my shoulder up higher than the other due to the pain. Hopefully I will find out something about it soon. I am going to the ortho tomorrow but was told by my PTP that he probably wouldn't look at my shoulder because he specializes in the back.
