settlement offered toooo low need answers
my attorneySad called and said the offer is not even 5 figures I have a permanent disability and my attorney said they may have a strong case against me I told him to ask for 10,000 he said they said 6,000 no higher. I work for my mother also as a chore provider doing no lifting or etc not out of my restrictions from the dr. my attorney said they may have a strong case regarding that my Dr, had me on no activity but my dr was aware of my duties for my mom. Today is another mediation date should I take it or leave it and go on w my life. I have ddd and arthritis in my lumbar and leg pain. my attorney want me to call him today w my decision.

difficult to say without knowing your state. each state has different benefits.
after 50+posts you should have updated your profile.
will your atty take it to trial? generally the longer you hold out more willing they may be to settle. I suspect settlement can be done day before trial; if so....

It is so very important to following the Doctors written word because your verbal communication with your Doctor was not document apparently and commuicated to your I/C. this is why I have copies of all of my records. It is also a good idea to follow up on the doctors note.

RE: settlement offered toooo low need answers
michigan doesn't use impairment ratings and relies mostly on earnings information for setting the long term loss effects of an injury. I suspect that not having a traditional job and working for a relative is making it difficult to provide reliable information to calculate their liability.
without any other issues you can file for a trial and try and settle for more at the last minute as it will save them some legal costs.
unless you change attys their opinion is probably the best advice you will have.

RE: settlement offered toooo low need answers
redemption is where the employer/carrier sells their liability for future work comp benefits back to the employee. basically a settlement.
here's the forms
