RE: Do you think I will get in to much trouble?
Now I just need to get my scripts back so I can see what they are and if they are on the list. A little bothered after seeing that list because there are ones on there that we have gotten for hubby or the kids on hubby's insurance that has cost us 10+ and we could have gotten them for 4 bucks!

RE: Do you think I will get in to much trouble?
I signed the same kind of cantract with my PM when I had one. However, it was for only the medical condition that he was treating me for. I was able to fill scrips from other Dr's for other conditions. He just asked that when I received a new scrip that I inform him of it in case there was any kind of interaction with the meds he had me on. Just be upfront with the PM if there are other meds that another Dr is prescribing for you. He should understand.

RE: Do you think I will get in to much trouble?
As far as the Valium script, my best friend has been prescribed that for back pain from her PM doctor. So it is also used for pain. They wanted her to take it and relax instead of moving around all the time. She is the type of person who cannot sit still. They wanted her to just lay down and not move all day and make her back worse after her shots she had.

Also I have signed many opiate agreement contracts that you are talking about. I also would have prescriptions from my primary care doctor that I would fill for RLS ( restless leg syndrome) and as long as you tell the PM doctor all the prescriptions you are using you will be fine. It means that you will not go around doctor shopping and getting pills from doctors that are pretty much the same that PM is giving you or other type of narcotics. I think if you explain to the doctor why you took the lortab he/she would understand. Just be up front and tell the truth about everything you take.

I think that is the key to WC always tell the truth to your Doc ,to your Lawyer, to them...it makes it a whole lot easier

;)Workmans comp is not a road you want to travel alone. You need a good lawyer,a great family and good friends to lean on.If you make it thru without losing everything you have worked for all your life, you have come out ahead of the game.....Smile

TiredOfHurting09 Wrote:I hope he does because I just could not take it anymore. The reason I ask about the valuim for is because that is what one of the scripts he wrote me was. I wasn't sure what it was for so I thought I would ask if it was unusual or not. I have never taken them before and I thought they were like a downer type of med something for anxiety.

Valium is used in the management of anxiety disorders. It may also be used to treat agitation, shakiness, and hallucinations during alcohol withdrawal and to relieve certain types of muscle pain

I used to take a medicine that I couldn't afford all at once, so I bought a week supply at a time. You might want to check that out if it isn't on the 4 dollar list.

RE: Do you think I will get in to much trouble?
I Use 10 mg. of Valium for Sleep Each Night. Tired ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS Contact Your PM Dr.'s Office with any Scripts given by Your Primary Care Physician, or taking Script. Meds. given before You Signed! They have to Test by Federal Law, and Especially if You are New at this Facility, You don't want a Dirty Test, or they can and Will Release You! My Suggestion Only, Call Your PM's Office and explain what You did and why, so it's Recorded and You are Covered. They should Understand, and by Calling You are being Honest, and Building and Honest Relationship. I have Watched My Dr.'s PA Stop the Care in Person, and also over the Phone for Dirty Tests, but My Relationship is built on Honesty, so I am only Tested at the Minimum Federal Level, either every 6 mos. or a Year, I give so Much Blood I Forget!!Tongue Just a Suggestion, and Have a Great Day!!Wink

Failed Back Surgery, Chronic Pain, Totally Disabled.

Knowledge is Power, Especially in the World of w/c. Learn as Much as You can about Your States w/c Laws, and don't Fight Battles alone, They Use Attorney's, and so Should You!!

RE: Do you think I will get in to much trouble?
Good for you. That at least let them know you are a honest person letting them know up front what you did. My new doctor I have now always likes me to call her and tell her how this new med is working for me. She wanted me to call her from Las Vegas when I was on vacation if I needed to up my dose. She was very pleased that I confronted her about it not working to well before I took another pill without her knowing. I got the approval first before I took more doseage.

Always use your meds as prescribed and be honest with your doctor about what you are taking and if the med is working or not. After awhile you both begin to build trust which I think is very important in the care of your health. I will be calling her again tomorrow to let her know that this med still is not helping me with my pain. She told me to call her on Friday if I still had no improvement.
