I will be praying for your daughter Tori. Please watch her close if this is the swine flu she has. In the state of Louisiana we had our first death from this type of flu, a 21 year old girl just a couple days ago. This is so strange that we are having a flu at this time of the year. I am just beginning to wonder about this. I know the time of the year for the flu is like from Oct. through the winter months. I had a bad case of the flue this past spring. As I started to feel better which was about a month later that is when they started talking about this swine flu business. I don't know what kind of flu it was but I ran a hight fever for over a week, everday, all day and night. After 2 different round of different meds and 2 injections I finally got to where I could get out of the bed. Just please watch her close and how old is she....I don't remember if you said or not. mjc, tori is 9 and while she still isnt 100% she is much better than yesterday. her fever is much better and has been awake and watching cartoons all day. with this flu she isnt nauseous or vomiting, her head and neck hurt, had a sore throat a dry cough, and high fever. the dr put her on tamiflu 60 mgs twice a day for 5 days. he also gave her something for her cough. i have had a slight headache for the past 3 days but don't have any other symptoms, hope it stays that way. thanks for the prayers i know they help!

Prayers are coming your way. I also wanted to asked if the did a nasal swab and send it out to be tested for swine flu? There were a group of high school kids that went to China for a trip and ended up being quarentined their for about a month until they tesyed clear. The local news stated that the asian countries have all person on flights from the US be swabbed for this flu, it positive, they have to wear masks and then quarentined. I hope your little feels better soon. I would make sure she has the nasal swab done.

viki, they did swab her nose thursday at the drs office. the dr only told me she had flu type a. he told me that she had to stay out of school friday and monday. she is taking tamiflu 30mg two twice a day for 5 days. the pharmasist was the one who told me it was the swine flu, she also said that was a high dosage of tamiflu, since shes only 9. but she called the dr and he said that was what she was supposed to take. but she really feels much better, no fever since friday morning. thanks all for your prayers.
