Can I record the independant doctor?
I wonder if it is legal to record an independant doctor during evaluation? I have seen him twice and I am yet to see him the third time , The first time he was honest the second time change his mind and lied for the most part in his report including when the MRI was taken(he said mri was taken right away but was taken 5 months later) he helped me get up but wrote the opposite and etc.... something he cant back up. Does he think I am a total idiot and I dont notice or he wants the IC to make their case at all cost?????????

According to Maryland state law, it is a 2 party consent in order to record any phone or in person conversations. Which means that you would have to get the Dr's permission to tape your visit with him.

WHy not just ask the IME if he would mind you taping the exam ? Accomplishes the same thing even if he declines, right ?

RE: Can I record the independant doctor?
Since you're seeing this doctor for the third time, you can also bring the two prior medical records with you and ask him to correct the inaccuracies in his prior reports. Yellow highlight whatever is incorrect and tell him to correct in his third report. Nothing confrontational, just something along the lines of "Hi doc, before we proceed with the exam I'd like to bring a couple of things to your attention... ...I'd appreciate if you corrected these inaccuracies in your narrative report from this visit."
---------
If he gives you permission to record the exam, you can record it. If he declines your request to record, tell him you want him to explain in writing in the narrative report why he declined your request.

RE: Can I record the independant doctor?
Well he was very interesting made me wait for about 2.5 hours before he saw me , did not apologize why he was late and asked how my arm was and I said to him "you must have the wrong file"and said oh no I have yours he touched and said this hurts , I said no it is my tail bone that hurts you touched it in the wrong place, prior to that they asked for my drivers license eventhou it is my third time there and kept it for about an hour by then I asked for it back. The recepionist were acting weird and now 2 hours passed and I said I need to call my family as to how long you're keeping me here it has been 2 hours do you have any idea when my turn since everyone that came after me have been seen and left? the next second I was called in but waited 15 minutes before his pa came and take notes for the doctor by then I was suffering since sitting is my biggest problem and went on with his eval that took about 10 minutes all together and kept on asking me what other doctor have you seen lately? who is dr ? he wanted to know a doctor I visited few days before that my attorney sent me I guess he did not have the report . Why would he need to know as to who the doctor is?
