Federal comp settlement ?? help!
Can anyone tell me if a Back injury is exempt from an award settlement within Federal compensation? I was injured in Feb of 2003 and have been on compensation ever since (100% disability). I have had 2 back surgeries, have two more scheduled with a total of 6 herniated discs. When this is over I hope to take my retirement from the post office along with my scheduled award. I was just told back injuries are not eligible for an award. I live in Western New York and can't find a lawyer who will touch a federal comp case. Although I have leg and arm pain, the doctor is hoping to alleviate that with the next two surgeries.

they are exempt from awards i am going throught the same thing but mine has affected my legs and feet so they have to pay for that, as long as something other than your back is disabled then you can get compensated, and the reason your back is exempt is because they have to care for it the rest of your life
