time limit to file a claim in Arkansas
Ok, so my mother-in-law works at a public school cafeteria. Yes, she's a lunch lady but she's really cool. She's worked there faithfully for 26 years. She was working in the freezer last February when a stack of boxes fell on her and injured her knee. Her manager told her that they didn't have time to fill out an accident report. She's a very passive person and didn't mess with it or push the issue and didn't really think she was seriously hurt at the time. Three days later she finally had to go to the doctor because she had obviously hurt something pretty badly in her knee.
She is covered through her husband's health insurance so that company was billed for the surgery. It required surgery and physical therapy for a torn meniscus. Well, now her husband's insurance company is going to deny the claim because they found out through the doctor's report that she was injured at her work. Can she still get the school's workman's comp to pay for all of this or has it been too long? What about her stupid, intimidating manager? |
