yep - delay is bad - gets worse every day....took several '2nd' opinions before i found a doc that would read MRI films and believe the report. they kept tellin me i had arthritis - that suddenly woke up and became problematic the day i fell - this doc i have now rolled his eyes and said there is no arthritis - asked who said that - and sighed and said - oh yeah - 'comp docs'...
its a wicked game.
if surgery does not work for me = sure hope it won't be too late for a lawyer!
I feel yr pain...hope you one day will be 'whole' again...even if u might be robotic!

gee, SIL, your story is horrifying! Suddenly, my knees seem like a nasty nuisance! (easy to say - because I am sitting down at the moment!) Seriously - so sorry to hear of what you have been and are going through...Fair left the building long before we were kids in kindergarten, and justice was the first one out the door. Sometimes i get delusional & need reality check. Thanks for that! yikes! I wish you the best possible outcome, heroes such as yourself, sure deserve better.

Any direction is appreciated. The only way to help improve laws is stand for change. The people making these laws, we put in their jobs. Will politicians ever really care about anything other than who and what lines their pockets.[/size][/font]

Yes, I do miss the mobility I once had with "good knees"

My injury was 2005, complete tear of the medial & lateral meniscus of the left knee. To accomodate my employer's work schedule my surgery was delayed 5 months while I continued to work with restrictions.

After surgery the knee was never the same, and I was told I needed a totol knee replacement. I started having problems with the other knee and learned I also had a torn meniscus in that knee. Surgery of the 2nd knee was done a few months later and I had meniscus repair, plica resectioning, and chrondlyl repair.

Thr total knee replacement was 36 months after my injury. I continue to have problems with the 2nd and recently had a x-ray of this knee. I saw the doctor Friday and learned I will need a partial knee replacement of the 2nd knee.

Please understand delaying medical treatment will only lead to other medical problems, that is what happened with me.

While an interesting story BK, there is a false assumption of causal relationship to it that, while perhaps good enough for the WC folks, has no basis in the medical literature.

The facts of the matter are that middle aged folks who are in the early stages of developing arthritis may present first with a meniscus tear as a first sign of problems to come as tears are essentially degenerative absent sports type trauma.

And so it is expected, ie; common, that the other knee will closely follow the first in developing similar symptoms. [ Especially in patients with multiple other medical conditions]

While there are studies that focus on the abnormal heel strike loading of the opposite ankle that occurs in altered gait patterns that suggest altered gait may increase loads to the opposite knee , to date there are no long term studies that have demonstrated this.

hi and welcome to the forum. you might want to look into your supplementary disability. ask the company directly if you quailify. i have a accident policy that pays reguardless of wc. hopefully it works out for you!
