nerve test
Hi all

I just wanted to know if anyone has had a nerve study done lately. I am due to go to one on the 30th of this month. The last time i had one for my shoulder it was AWFUL!!!They stuck long thin needles just below the skin into my hand oh how I cried. I am just hoping the proceedure has changed.

RE: nerve test
It,s not that bad. I had 1 about 6 week,s ago.
The technician had some state of the art equipment.
Was very freindly,He noticed I was very apprehensive,He reallly calmed me down before the Test.
Every now and then I would twitch,,,,,But over all It was not as bad as I anticipated.

RE: nerve test
The test is the same, but who administers it can make a huge difference. I've had two nerve studies. The first was done by a neurologist and it wasn't pleasant. The second was done by a physiatrist (physical medicine doctor) and I didn't feel a thing. Exact same test!

Good luck to you!

Rholmes,

I would like to welcome you to our family forum. This is the best place you can be. Lot's of knowledge from other on this forum and we are always here to offer our support and share our knowledge.

As for the nerve test, I agree with some of the others, it depends on who's performing the test. I had 3 of them done and it was somewhat painful but not anything I could not tolerate. My Neurologist actually did all of mine himself and I think that was a plus.

I truly wish you the best of luck with your test and pray that it will not be too painful for you.

God Bless and take care!

Thank you so much for the welcome I have been in the shadows somewhat for about a month. I find this board amazing and very helpful and sometimes funny. Thank God through all our pain and misery we are still able to laugh sometimes.

Thanks for the info and the welcome

I AM IN CALI :-)

Oh my goodness Cap!!!

That's exactly how I felt. I couldn't even complet it I left in tears. I was already in sever pain and the woman just kept sticking me saying "sorry" till after the 3rd stick I said "that is enough!" The only thing that was good about that test is the fact that before I got there I didn't know what to expect, now I do. :-( . Thanks everyone who responded.
