Heading for a settlement/auto
December 2007 a group or injured workers from this forum got together in Tulsa for the weekend.

Sunday was the day we all headed home, and also the day a bad ice storm hit Tulsa.

On the way home with hubby driving, a truck in front of us went out of control. This truck started fish tailing, went into a spin, came out of the spin and hit the passanger side of our vehicle where I sat.

I received a neck injury as a result of this accident with 3 disc involved. The doctors tells me I will likely need surgery in the future.

I had to hire an attorney because the auto insurance hasn't been paying my medical bills.

Well, in Kansas you have 2 years to settle an auto accident,
and I am reaching the settlement point.

Today I received papers in the mail that will move me to the settlement stage.

I am to have a conference call with the insurance company and my attorney. Problem is I am hearing impaired and do not do well on the phone with conference calls. Been there, done that.
Course this is something I will need to workout with my attorney.

RE: Heading for a settlement/auto
You were smart in leaving so early.

Yes, the attorney will have to take my hearing loss in consideration with the conference call.

RE: Heading for a settlement/auto
Good luck sweetie! Is it possible to be in your attorneys office during this call so that he can put it on speaker phone and maybe clear anything up that you might not have heard right as you go? My hearing isn't the greatest in the world either so I understand. If more than one person is talking or if there's background noise I miss everything Sad

Praying they make you a decent offer that will give you the care you need.

Hugs,
monster

RE: Heading for a settlement/auto
BK, you may want to talk to your attorney about devices that actually show the words spoken at your location. They are on the market. I just can't recall the name of them. I am going on 48 hours with no sleep so my mind is a little foggy. If the devise can be required for the conference call, then maybe the IC will have to pay for it and you can keep it. Just a thought.

Take Care
