Another Epidural---Update
Just thought I would up date you's on progress. With the last injections I lasted 5 days of relief. I just had another visit with Pain Clinic and also my home DR anyways they are going to go in again into the L5_S1 and this time facets ( hope I spelled right ).. Now WC (ncm) was kinda argumentive on the facets because she figured I probaby had this problem before I was injured.
I thought to my self OK HERE WE GO. I have had a long work history and never ever been to a dr for pain anywhere. But I figured this is when the Bull Crap starts. But with out panic both of my DR said and noted that L5_S1 and The facets have had quite a jar that they feel it is the reason and noted it was work related. After the appointment some other issues still remain and was discussing the plan with ncm. And I refused to have somthing done that does not pretain to my injury. Although she explained that the Adjuster just may decide I'm non cooperative. But the next day the adjuster called and said she agreed but she was not going to cancle the appointment and said I would have to due to it because would seem they were planning my care. Well that same day I had appointment with my local DR and also agreed I was not a canidate and didnt think I shoulg go either... So I do have a DR that has noted not to attend. Now NCM asked how long pt was to last (well I seen this comming yesterday) so my PT's said 2 weeks more. Now I only go in 2 to 3 times per week so the owner of the place arranged it with me to come in on my own for free and they will still advise and watch and they will stetch out my appointments for 8 weeks. Setting up 1 appointment every other week so I dont have to pay a membership fee............ Now I know this was one of my longest but I guess I had alot to say..........Thanks for your EARS/EYES.................Bronco |

Hi Bronco!! I'm Sorry, I'm a bit Confused by Your Thread, and it's Probably Me, I'm having One of those Days!
Are You Saying that You don't want the Injections and w/c Says You still have to have Them? I See Your Point about the Facets, but did the w/c Adjuster say they Were going to Cover it? Like I said it could be Me, but I want to Make Sure I Have this Correct! Thanks!!

Still in Limbo Wrote:Hi Bronco!! I'm Sorry, I'm a bit Confused by Your Thread, and it's Probably Me, I'm having One of those Days! Still my post is a little scrambled , even I get confused trying to read it. I have no problems with getting injections, wc was just trying to say it was not from injury. But both pm dr and my reg dr said it was due to the sudden jarring that caused the problem....... And all injections are still happening and being covered under wc. I have other problems that are common with the pelvis injury and etc. PM nurse wanted me to go through a procedure I will not do period. I wont go into detail but I was worried that wc would say I'm not cooperating, and ncm said adjuster wont like it.... But after appointment with reg dr who agreed with me and noted he doesnt think I'm a good canidate for the procedure. Later that day the adjuster called and said that was fine and to go ahead and cancle. I probably saved WC thousands by not going through with this, but had to be sure I protected myself first. The Adjuster actually thank me for being honest and added that many pain clinics push clients into many procedures weather its wc injury or not. Also said that now that I have seen the other side of the reasoning behind them questioning and denying and knowing they would have had to pay. She was trying to be friendly but I'm not won over that easy. And will not count my chickens before they are hatched........... And I will add so far I have not had any problems with coverage and have been able to clear things up with just a simple call. Now I have read many here have had the most frightfull unimaginable ncm / adjusters and I'm glad I have not had to go through that..............Yet..... |

RE: Another Epidural---Update
Thanks Bummer.
I have had some relief from the injections. With the 1st one was very short lived but did give relief. Now the second 1 was the best but made my foot numb for a week. I am still seeing relief but has lowered down but still improved from the start. My pain levels have been great I'm going to bed with 2's and now I think I can maybe get off the ambien. I just hope they stay that way, even though work kills me and pain levels are a norm at 5-6 the tramadol helps a bit. After the next injections I pray I keep the relief for a while. But I guess they will try 1 more procedure after this and then if that dont work they are refering me to a surgeon............And thats the last thing I want right now.... I just want to thank those who have listened to my drama/problems and have gave me advice and expierences which really does help ease the mind...........................Gives me direction and power/knowledge I just hope some day I will be able to help others the way you's have helped me....................Bronco |

RE: Another Epidural---Update
Now I Understand Bronco, Thanks for Clearing that Up!! When I Retained My Attorney, My Days of Talking to My Adjuster are Long Gone, and My Attorney made Life such a Living He** for the NCM Firm, I haven't had One in over 31/2 Years!!
When I Signed My Contingency Agreement with My Attorney, it was Made Clear that All Correspondence was to go through Him from both Sides Period!! Now My Checks from the i/c for the Most Part have been regular, and even though We have some Payment Issues for Meds. and Care, I and My Attorney know it's the Defense Attorney, not the i/c, because as We File a Petition, and the Defense Attorney Sends the Bill to the i/c, it Usually gets Paid, so We know where Our Battle is!! If You and Your Dr.'s Agree that what They wanted to do is not in Your Best Interest, and You Deny it, I know at Least in Pa., they can File a Petition to Review Medical Care and Whine to the Judge, but if Your Point is Valid, and Your Dr.'s Agree, they know You would Probably Win. Your doing the Correct thing Bronco, it's Your Body and Your Right to Decide what's Done to it!! Best of Luck!!

RE: Another Epidural---Update
I just wanted to update and with a question.. First the update.
Tues I had the injections had 1 into the SI joint again, had the S1-L5 epidural injection and for the first time 3 injections to the facets. I was in horrible pain The L5 and SI injections went smooth and even under x-ray he kept missing the facets, well now by that time I am complaining asking him what the heck was going on.....The only response I got was it was my choice not to be sedated...... I went home in major pain I had taken all I could of tramadol and would not even touch it.. It felt like I had a baloon under my skin... I finnaly broke down and took 2 vicodin, I laid in bed from 3pm till 2:30 am when I had to go to work. I knew I was introuble and could not drive so I had to call someone to make my deliveries. So back to bed again and got out of bed at 10 am.. I was able to get out of bed and was in pain but It seemed to fade alot after trying to walk it off.. I was supposed to go to pt but slept right through it.... But there was no way I was going to bust my abb working out after what I went through, but I will deal with him on thurs... These injections were meant to be for diag only... Now my question to you's is why on earth would they give me all thoughs at once.? Now they wont be able to know what injection did what....... I know it a good question for my pm dr and I will be asking him on the 25th. But untill then what are your thoughts.? |

RE: Another Epidural---Update
Hi Bronco...I'm with Cycler on this one. Stupid to do them all. My PM Dr. after my first back injury injected my SI joint after giving me a mild sedative. On the way home I felt great because he also injected a numbing agent in there. Well about 4-5 hours later I thought I would die. Worst pain I ever . We were at least able to figure out that it was and still is that joint that causes me multiple problems. Sorry they didn't isolate it ....would make much more sense. But then again it is WC we're talking about. Maybe the Dr. will be able to figure something out by where your most intense pain was afterwards. Wishing you the best. God is never late. In the end it doesn't matter how many years were in your life but how much life was in your years. |
