lunch injury in new jersey
I got injured while walking to my truck during lunch time.I hit a uneven patch on the driveway/parkin lot and my ankle gave underneath me.I ended up having to go to the ER and got xrays done.I have a really bad sprain and was unable to go to work the next day due to I can not drive.Shouldn't my employer cover all my medical expenses since it happened on work property even though I was on lunch?

Yes they should. I fell on ice on my way into work in the morning in my employers parking lot and the covered everything.

God is never late.

In the end it doesn't matter how many years were in your life but how much life was in your years.

Hi Deb, and Welcome to the Forum!! I don't want to Complicate things for You, but I think it's going to be the Responsibility of the Owner of the Property You were Hurt on, or the Party Responsible for the Upkeep of the Parking Lot. If Your Employer Owns the Building, then they should be Held Responsible, but You May want to look into this a bit Further. At the Top of the Page is a Tab Entitled "State Info" You should be able to get Your Start There. Best of Luck!!Wink

corn is correct.
work comp coverabe doesn't follow the time clock. injury events can arise out of the employment that are outside of your hourly payroll.
alternatively there can be events that occur during work time that are not work related.
If the employer maintains the lot and it's use is sanctioned during lunch and break periods then you can file a claim.
