Question additional restrictions
Okay I went to my regular primary physcian after being told that since I was released from the work comp doc. with permenant restrictions...my doctor added more restrictions. Does work have to comply with this since it is not the work comp doc? Its the same injury but work refused to send me back to the work comp doc. Someone, anyone have any advise?

RE: additional restrictions
these are questions you need to raise with your lawyer...I had the same problem when I had my injury and went a year without a paycheck....the judge made them pay but it took a year to get it...but I did get it

;)Workmans comp is not a road you want to travel alone. You need a good lawyer,a great family and good friends to lean on.If you make it thru without losing everything you have worked for all your life, you have come out ahead of the game.....Smile

RE: additional restrictions
My primary care physican did the same thing although I wasn't released from the wc doctor at the time.

My attorney provided the added restrictions to the insurance company's attorney and judge and the added restrictions are taken into consideration when medical decisions are made.

RE: additional restrictions
i think it depends on whether the state laws allow an employee to choose their physician. some states restrict medical control and the use of a personal physician would not be allowed.

RE: additional restrictions
After My Back Surgery Failed, and My Lower Back Filled with Scar Tissue, I Saw a Total of 9 Surgeons, (Both Ortho. and Neuro.) and was told by the Last Surgeon to go to My PCP and get a Referral to a Good PM Dr. because I am Inoperable, and My Only Option is to be kept as Comfortable as Possible. My Employers Ins. Co. Paid for the Visits, as they were All Referrals from One Dr. to the Other. That's how it Worked for Me in Pa., and I Agree You should Speak with Your Attorney and Make Sure You are Covered! My Very Best to You!!Wink

Question RE: additional restrictions
My attorney had me call the nurse case manager and she called my employer and she finally called me back yesterday and stated that will authorize me to go back to the dr. that did shoulder surgery but she stated that they are saying it is a new claim and that someone from my job would call me but I never heard from them. I talked to my lawyer and he said to go into work this morning and take in the additional restrictions from my private physcian. The nurse case manager said that my employer will not authorize payment for additional physcial therapy that my private physcian prescribe. This is so dumb they told me to go my own physcian and now they dont want to listen to what he has to say. I am going to work today wondering what they have planned for me. My doctor appointment is at the end of this month with the shoulder doctor. How do they get to classify it as a new injury even though it is not?
