RE: My job is making me crazy/boss harrassing me
I'd recommend you contact the ombudsman.
http://www.ohioic.com/service/ombuds.html you can file a work comp claim. http://www.ohiobwc.com/bwccommon/forms/froi/default.asp you will need medical evidence that you have an injury caused by your work. |

RE: My job is making me crazy/boss harrassing me
hey bronco,
i agree that it is a cut throat world. and you are right about the brown nosing. it just makes it very difficult to go into work everyday and not know what my boss is going to be up to today. i constantly feel that i have to look over my shoulder and document everything i do so when she tries to write me up, i have something. i dont think i will ever understand her logic. but you are right. i have to be in charge of my own life. im trying, believe me. hopefully my day in the sun is coming soon! bronco54501 Wrote:Wow buckeyegurrl |

Are you writing her up as well ? There is a grievance process through your bargaining unit ?

RE: My job is making me crazy/boss harrassing me
Hi buckeyegurrl.........I'm so sorry you have to go through this. I worked in the same atmosphere. My co-workers were so afraid of some of our supervisors that they would go along with them or complain constantly but never do anything about it. It is very damaging. I don't see why you can't file a WC claim. As long as you have medical documentation that your job is causing these problems/ problems to worsen. You may need an attorney at some point. I will tell you that it took me 3 years of being out of that environement to feel better and at times now when I hear of my employer or a co-worker it can still make me nervous for days. I did not add the psychological into my WC claim it was strictly physical but you can, although difficult have a phsychological claim. Best of luck to you. God is never late. In the end it doesn't matter how many years were in your life but how much life was in your years. |

RE: My job is making me crazy/boss harrassing me
i have told the union since october that i want a grievance. i also contacted hr to set up a meeting with hr, the bosses boss and myself. i have called and sent emails. i have not been able to get the union to set up meeting times to get the ball rolling. same thing with hr. i kinda think that they know what my boss is doing and is trying to avoid it and just hoping i will quit.
i work for a pretty big place. it will be difficult for me to sue them i think. Cycler Wrote:Are you writing her up as well ? There is a grievance process through your bargaining unit ? |

RE: My job is making me crazy/boss harrassing me
If I were you....I'd beat feet to an employment lawyer with your evidence in hand. Keep all emails, company memo's or try to do your talking with her via email.....so you have proof that she's pounding you. You can simply print out these emails...or send em to your home.
Can a boss or difficult work enviroment cause one's health to deteriorate?? You betcha. I once spent a week in the hospital for the worse case of shingles my doctor had ever seen...all caused by my superior...who didn't like the looks of me. You must protect yourself & your health. I feel very bad for you, and most certainly can relate! Your boss also needs knocked down a few pegs...and Glory Days to you, if YOU are the one who can put a stop to any more of this person's future nonsence! Lilly Injured worker, & tired of it all! I'm too old for games!! A careless word may kindle strife, a cruel word may wreck a life, a timely word may level stress, and a loving word may heal and bless! |

RE: My job is making me crazy/boss harrassing me
this is why im unsure of what to do. my medical problems are not necessarily caused from work. they are made worse because of it, well, the boss. i do, however, have medical documentation that my condition has worsened since all of this began. plus the counselor does believe that the boss is harassing me. i am now on antidepressants which i have never been on before and have never had an issue with depression.
i do have a lot of documentation, but i know it will not be an easy fight. thanks to everyone who has responded. it means a lot to me! capricorn Wrote: |

RE: My job is making me crazy/boss harrassing me
i try to keep all communication with her through emails. i also forward the emails to my home email address. i also journal the days events. someone in a higher power position than the boss (but not her boss) told me they feel that the boss is intimidated by me. they apparently had a conversation about me and this is the other persons impression.
one-i have less education than the boss. two-the employer requires more education than i have for the boss position. three-i am not interested in the boss's position (because a sane person would not take the position) the person who told me this said they think she is intimidated because i have a very unique and strong resume. i came to the employer with several great letters of recommendations. my career, by far, out weighs my education. i have been very lucky to have had the opportunities i have had. it was an amazing ride! the employer i work for now is actually a couple steps below what i was doing previously. i would never convey that in anyway to them, coworkers, etc. as i do not care that it is below what i was doing before. what is so ironic though is that i had to leave my previous employer because my doctor wanted me to do something different after i had an unexpected illness that required a major surgery. so, i find this job that isnt going to be as stressful or demand as much as i was use to, and this happens!!! crazy how life rolls:-) i never saw this coming! RE: My job is making me crazy/boss harrassing me
Hi Buckeyegirl, and Welcome to the Forum!! I didn't Read all of the Responses to You, but I read a Couple of Yours, and I May have an Avenue You can take, Hopefully that will Start You on the Right Path. Psych. Claims under Most w/c Systems are tough, as others have told You, but You have an Ace in a Hole, Your Union! Go to Your Union Rep., and if You can't get any Satisfaction from Them, (Sometimes Union Reps. and Employers get Chummy, and don't always keep the Employee in Mind) Call Your National Office. Request an Appointment with a Psychologist to Ascertain whether Your Manager and Work are Causing You Problems that would make You Eligible for Workers Compensation, or if Administrative Action by Your Employer can Make Your Job less Stressful, and Use Your Journals, E-Mails, and so forth as Evidence. If they Deny You this Request, ask for it in Writing, and go to a Psychologist of Your Choice. (You may have to Pay for this) You are going to have to get Professional Medical Evidence to have a Better Chance at either Receiving w/c Benefits, or a change in Your Work Environment, and it must come from the Profession of Your Medical Condition. If You can Receive this, I would Suggest You ask to Apply for w/c or a Position Change, and if after all of this, You are still Denied, Consider an Attorney to Help You along! This is the Path I would Follow if in a Situation such as Yours, Cross Your T's, Dot Your I's and Force them to Make a Move!! Plus with a Goal to Work Towards, You May Actually Start to Feel a Bit Better because You have a Goal to Achieve, I know I always Feel Better when I am doing Something that May Improve Myself or My Family! Best of Luck!!
Failed Back Surgery, Chronic Pain, Totally Disabled. Knowledge is Power, Especially in the World of w/c. Learn as Much as You can about Your States w/c Laws, and don't Fight Battles alone, They Use Attorney's, and so Should You!! |
