Train derailment and fire
We have a bad one because of the storms that moved through this area, Train derailed, cars filled with ethenol exploding and on fire. Area has been evacuated. Emergency and 36 fire depts are on scene. I guess a real mess, so far no known injured.
I can see glow from my house.

RE: Train derailment and fire
Up date, 100 cars derailed, 74 with ethenol, 3 injured with burns , 2 serious , 1 critical being transfered to a major burn hospital, Chicago or Milwaukee Power is out and they are still trying to contain the fire, Hazmat teams are on the scene Because of the rain and flooding the train hit the water covering the tracks which caused the derailment. Emergency shelters are set up for the people that need to evacuate.. May be Canadian National Train

RE: Train derailment and fire
according to what I just read on the net, there was actually one death. That of a woman who was stopped at a crossing when the train derailed. She tried to flee, but was overcome by something before getting clear of the area. The three that were injured were passengers in her car.

It stated that 18 tanks exploded and that 2 still were on fire this afternoon, although flames couldn't be seen more than 2 blocks away. It is still unclear why the train derailed, but it is under investigation.
