spinning wheel?????
I found this site a couple of weeks ago and have read many different post on here that are close to the problem I seem to be having with WC. I was injured on the job 8-07 herneated disc in lower back. Was run around for a couple of weeks with little help I am from a small town in Arkansas, with no so called specialist to dill with the type enjury I have, got the go ahead from WC and went to a Dr. who showed me on mri what was wrong and causing pain he said "IT HAD TO COME OUT" (disc) I told him "to do it" I was in so much pain and had to have something done, had been run around for about 3 weeks already. Well the wc would not aprove the surgery insted sent me to a different Dr., this one (I did not know how the system worked then) worked for the Ins. co. and he said my problem could be treated with a shot. Not knowing any better said do it, I had to do something to stop the pain. That was a very big mistake, lower right leg, foot and toes have not been the same. It felt like I had an 440vac knee sock on with bad short with excess voltage being discharged threw the ends of my toes. A couple of hours after the shot the pain eased up a bit in leg but has never gone away. I can walk but not normal any hard or uneven surfice causes the pain to put tears in this 51yrolds' eyes. After a few more weeks I was sent to anther Dr. this one said same as first "it had to come out" He done surgery removed part of the disc, the ruputer part, in time I began to feel better in the lower back area but told the doc. he left a flash light in my rear end. When I walked the more pain I felt. After a couple of months the Dr. said I had only 3 options do nothing, another surgery, or pain management when I told him I would not take another shot, because of the pain the first one added to what I already had. A couple more weeks of really strong pain the Dr. talked me again about my options. When he suggested another surgry I asked "To do What" he told me that it would be more or less just to see inside did not think it would help with the leg pain, that I had nerve damge and recomended another shot, I told him again what the first one had caused, he said it shouldn't have, then went and got a copy of my records . He wrote on an exray and drew an arrow pointing to where the shot should had been given. He told me "The first shot was given in the wrong place" and talked me into a second shot, this one hurt like hell but only in the back after a short time it was just like I never got it. Did not help nor cause any more long term pain. I was released back to work (heavey equipment machanic/welder) I have never been reliesed form this enjury and have been on pain pills and seen nerve Dr. (also wcdr) On 3-17-09 the tip on my 4th finger was caught in the wrong place at the wrong time and cut off (same job and co.) I must have jerked my back cause now I am worse off then ever, my back hurts and locks up just as it did before surgery or first shot. I am now missing part of my finger, have little grimlans running up and down my leg ripping at what ever they can to get out. Sometimes with a tourch sometimes jack hammer or even dedcord blasting down my lower leg and across my foot sometimes just like my toes have been blown off. Have gone back to the Dr. and after an mri recomends surgery again. Being WC it has to be approved through them first. I saved the best part for last The Ins. co. claims I never had coverage. (talk about BS) No pay check nor med payments for 10 weeks now. Ins. co was paying for med. until the finger issue. When I did go back to work it was for less then half what I was making (same co. different position) The Dr. who done the surgry on my back in 07 is the same one who pulled me off of work in 3-09. This letter may e a bit confussing but I am confussed and setting here in pain have had lawyer for a month now and he seems to be doing the best he can, but dang............finger surgry was done but no med paid for may even get latter bills for the surgery????????? Every one is saying I am covered insurance wise, that is except the wc people, the first wc/cm was great then changed to one who seemed to care less then another worse, now with the forth one I think wc have given my case to the B*** of all case managers. I truly wish congress had to use the same wc we do. Thanks, everyone needs a sholder every now and then.

kate Wrote:They're calling it the Legal Advisor Division. Here's the number 800-250-2511 Thank you Kate, I had spoken with them before, with them seeming to be very helpful with what to do. Telling me that I may need a hearing and although I did not need an attorney it would be better that I did. Well I got one and now no one talks to me. That's what I mean about spinning wheels, dont' seem to be getting anywhere soon within the system. The lawyer tells me my employer does have ins. and I am covered and even if for some reason I don't have coverage now, I was covered in 07 and the issue with my back is covered regardless of what coverage I have now. |
