Moving On......
I have shared the story on this forum about my friend Michele, the injured nurse. And now I have more I would like to share.........

My friend was injured 2 years ago while working as a floor nurse at a local hospital. Her injury is Spinal arachnoiditis.

Michele is a single parent of a disabled adult son whom lives with her.
Due to my friend's injuries she is no longer able to live by herself, and she is moving to Illinois and she and her son will move in with her mother.

I meet Michele 20 years ago when Shriners Hospital contacted me about a family with a young child with CP needing assistance.

Over the years we have become good friends, she was at the hospital with me when my daughter died, and I was there when she received the news her father was dying.

I will miss her as she heads to Illinois tomorrow.

RE: Moving On......

Sorry for the news , BK. I know how much you will miss her and what a special place she holds in your heart. You will always be in touch. Prayers for both of you.

God is never late.

In the end it doesn't matter how many years were in your life but how much life was in your years.

RE: Moving On......
Thank you

My friend was 42 when she was injured, and now is 45. She worked as a physical therapist and RN and when she was injured and knew her injury was serious.

The insurance company delayed medical treatment until it was to late and she was diagnosis with arachnoiditis. The nerves in her spine have fused together causing beyond severe pain and limited mobility.

Due to her disability it is not safe for her to live alone and that is why she is moving in with her mother.

Thu all of this my friend has meet a nice young man and they are now engaged, he will be moving to Illinois in 2 weeks and will live near by her. They started dating before her diagnosis a little over a year ago.

I believe a wedding will be in the future.

I will miss my friend, although this will be a good move for her.

Bummer,

So sorry to hear about your friend. By the things you say this sounds like it may be a good move for her. I know how much you will miss your friend. Just remember, you can still be in touch with her. Adjustments take time and that is what you will need. Take care and love ya!
