RE: Injections tomorow
Oh yes they did numb it. The next day it still hurt worse then what it was. Now yesterday "omg I couldnt believe I walked about 700 ft and almost forgot about the pain." I mean it was awsome its not gone but even narcotics never got it this far.
I know they say it will ware off but should help Drs in diag am I right? Now if they can get my hip and leg pain and the numbness and tingly out I may start being more active. Maybe loose some of this weight and be half way normal..................Bronco |

RE: Injections tomorow
Bronco,
Glad to hear that you are finally getting some relief with your SI injection. Let's hope that with each successive injection the relief will last longer. As for the pain in your hip and leg, see if your Dr would be willing to do a series of lumbar spine blocks. They are done higher up in the lumbar spine and will spread into different nerves below the level of the injection. I had a series of LSB's done for the RSD in both my lower extremities, and I got the best pain relief from those, over all the meds they had tried me on. Unfortunately, because of the spread of the RSD and loss of medical insurance, the positive affects have worn off for me, and I have learned how to function at a constant 9 to 10 on the pain scale. Wishing you the best of luck with the injections. Angel ^j^ I've always been crazy, but it keeps me from going insane. ************ Happiness comes through doors you didn't even know you left open |

RE: Injections tomorow
If you have a weak stomach, like I do for medications, ask the nurse to add some "anti nausea" medication into your I.V. Other than that, the procedure is a piece of cake.

RE: Injections tomorow
I had a cervical injection a few weeks ago and I am scared to death so much that I cancelled my other one last week because I had so much back pain between my shoulder blades where they did the injection and the injection did not even help me anyways.
It felt like they poured cement into my back it was so heavy for the first 5 mins. This is when the medicine spreads into the area in your back. Then when I got home the back was so sore for 2 days at the injection site that I could not lay on it. This was done to try to relieve my pain in my neck when I went to my PM doctor for my hand pain that lead all the way up to my neck behind my ear and when they did the MRI of my cervical everything came back okay. This doctor still wanted to do the injection to rule out the discs in my neck causing my hand pain. carpal tunnel recurrence/ neuropathy / RSD. 1/29/07 injury date. Permanent. PIR settlement 8/4/08 10% |
