question for bummer
Bummer, been having a lot of behavior issues with my son , aggresive, and hyperactive, bouncing off the wall for at least 3 or 4 hours at night for the last few weeks, acting up at school. I have taken him off all the medications that he was on because they didn't seem to be helping him,Started reading about marinol. Are you familiar with that. seems some people are using it on autistic kids.Look it up and you will know why I am kinda leary about trying it on him. I am getting desperate. He is getting much bigger now, as tall as me and has got about ten pounds on me now. What do you think? Thanks Halftrak

RE: question for bummer
well I am not Bummer but may I offer my opinion? I also have special needs children altho not near as severe as yours and Bummers...I have noticed they seem to be hyper sensitive to weather changes and mood swings of those around them.....with all the bad weather, your divorce, your pain both mental and physical, your daughter graduating, the move, his Daddy leaving and a new baby.........you think he may be just reacting to all the changes? It is hard for us adults to master all those changes without showing out......Your son doesnt speak does he? except thru his computer....is there anyway to just let him vent and get out all the anger these changes are causing him?Does he draw?Hell I dont know just searching for a way to help you I quess......Bummmeeeerrrrrrrrrrrrr where are you??????????????
;)Workmans comp is not a road you want to travel alone. You need a good lawyer,a great family and good friends to lean on.If you make it thru without losing everything you have worked for all your life, you have come out ahead of the game.....

RE: question for bummer
Jayne I always respect your opinion, and it is always welcome with open arms. yes you are probably right. The little guy has had a lot of changes in his life the last few months, next Friday he is going to his dad's for 2 weeks,I think he misses his dad, and I think I need a break also. Thanks anytime for your opinion or advice.I just have been so tired of doctor's using him to experiment with this drug or that drug which seems to make him worse.I think I need a vacation,My girl is going to stay near her future college week after next Little guy is going toi his dad's think I will run away. Just don't know where yet.Guess it's just been a crappy week.

RE: question for bummer
Hi Halftrak
Sorry I didn't respond earlier. I do believe Jayne & Still In Limbo are correct on their answers. Our boys do not do well when it somes to transition, and they react with behavior. It's their way of communicating there frustrations. Along with the weather, we've recently had a full moon. Then there is the end of the school year and that is challenging for all children, teachers, and parents. I've also had to pull some of my son's meds as it was contributing to his behaviors. Gotta be careful when doing this, and under supervision of a doctor. Sometimes the meds we give our children will quit working over time. My son has had a weight change and gotten taller and that has an impact on the way his meds work. Bummer Knees |

Halftrak,
I do believe you need a vacation. Spend this time taking care of yourself for a bit. You have been taking care of everyone and since you are getting this break, take advantage of it. You have been through alot lately. God Bless and take care!
