Vicodin & Opium based medications

[Still in Limbo]

Cycler, I'm Familiar with IR-(Immediate Release) and ER-(Extended Release) Dosages, and as My Fentanyl Patch was 100 mcg per. Hr. 3 Day ER. My Morphine Breakthrough is 30 mg. IR, and My Methadone is Set for 10 mg. Every 6 Hours. I was just trying to Clear Up the Fact that Some Meds such as Vicodin and Percocet are for the Short Term, Usually, and Meds. such as Methadone and Morphine are More Commonly Used for Long Term Chronic Pain Care. There are other Meds., I know, that are Used for Short and Long Term Care, but Some were Referring to the Show "House", where He was Downing Vicodin Like Candy for Long Term Care, and was Actually Addicted and Abusing His Meds. Dependence and Addiction are 2 Totally Different Terms, but there is a Very Fine Line between the 2, and Anyone on Long Term Opiate Care for Chronic Pain should be Made Aware byTheir Dr.'s Prescribing How to Treat these Meds. Carefully. Bad Boys Trial was Very Enlightening for Me, and I Hope Many Here Read this, and Actually Take the Time to Understand what He Accomplished with His Trial. These Meds. I have to take are the Worst Part of My Injury, and My PM Dr. and I are trying Very Hard not to Increase My Dosage of Pain or Anti-Inflammatory Levels too Quickly, I am only 47, and Hopefully have a Long Time to Live. I also wanted to Add that My PCP and I have My Liver and Kidney Checked every 3 Months via Blood Test to Monitor any Adverse Changes. This Thread has a lot of Very Valuable Info. in it, and I Hope Many Read and Learn from it!!
