RE: PM clinic
I don't know of any limitations on the amount of cortizone shots. When I had my first injury, and developed scar tissue after the first surgery, my treating Dr was using up to 5 shots of cortizone directly into the scar tissue to try and break it loose as he manipulated my wrist and hand. I went 5 days in a row for this treatment, before it was decided that I would need a 2nd surgery. So that would have been 15 to 25 shots in a 7 day period. And I never had any ill affects from that treatment, other than higher pain levels where they twisted my wrist and hand, all the while putting pressure against the area (all shots were put into a 2 inch scar) where the cortizone was injected.
I think that you need to find a new treating Dr. It sounds as if he doesn't want you to get any better unless it under the treatments and such that he orders. Sounds like he might have a superiority complex in that he is the be all and end all on your injury and is the only one that can help you. I sure wouldn't want a treating Dr that wasn't open to other forms of treatment that might help you. Angel ^j^ I've always been crazy, but it keeps me from going insane. ************ Happiness comes through doors you didn't even know you left open |

RE: PM clinic
Thanks Undercover,Now Im not to worried about using up my last resort for relief and will get the injections. I often wonder that my self as for the tens unit and these shots he was not for that. He also put me at end of healing on parts of my injury and long behold I'm back into pt. My treating Dr is in same place where my pt is. So I was a bit uncomfortabe even going back, my new pt is great and has really helped me so I will remain there for that. The pain clinic did not offer pt there as maybe they aint set up for it I dont know.
sparkey--------------But as far as him asking about sex, here is the story. Obviously after my accident I couldnt even up to 6 months I wouldnt even try it. And when I felt better I couldnt, I blamed it on the meds and was to ashamed to ask about it. Once I was off pain meds and blood thinners, now this has been a year and still not able. Well so when I had last check up with surgeon I got up the notion and asked. Wow what a relief its hard to talk about that and now it opened a new door, because of the pelvis injury that I had it totaly distroyed nerv endings and stuff. Well he directed me to a different dr who can help, and wc nor ncm is giving me any trouble and oked every thing so far. I do have to go to pt today and then I will give them the script for the tens unit. They are having me try it for a month then if it helps WC will buy it for me. I just hope they dont frown on me for going out of thier circle to go to pm. ............Thanks again Bronco. |
