Graves Disease
Sad My Endo called awhile ago, I had to go see him for routine tests and visit. I still am testing positive for Thyroid antibodies, meaning I am not in remmision for Graves, It has been 5 years sinse I had my thyroid Radiated( RAI) Most people are ok by now, Not me I even have contacted the eye disease which is causing all my eye problems.
Endo said it can go into remmission anywhere from 18 mths to years, DRATS, Just my luck. He changed my medication and uped the dosage So I guess I just hang in there and wait. Patience is not one of my virtues. But have no choice. Can ya ll tell I am a little down. Just needed to tell someone and vent, Thanks for listening..............

My sister has thyroid problems, is this something that is genetic and something other family members need to be aware of?

Tuffy,
Don't let this get you down, just another bump in the road of life unfortuantly. Maybe the change in your meds will help. Call me if you need to talk. Take care and finish getting ready for Florida.

Vickie

Vickinat, Never fear, I will muddle through this, and sweetie I am all packed and ready to go, Looking forward to seeing you Thursday...........

BK, My mother is hypothyroid, but no one else in the family to my knowledge, But I have heard if one there may be others. No harm in asking a Dr to check, it is just a simple blood test.

RE: Graves Disease
Graves Disease is a autoimmune disease that attacks the thyroid, So is different from just thyroid problems. Thanks BBBB I will survive. LOL

BK, my friend Gail is hypothyroid, and so is her mother and sister, and I do know of others so it appears to run in famlies.
