Question about WC
I have a question or two, and happy to have found this forum. To give a bit of history, I am an RN, tore my rotator cuff while doing passive range of motion therapy on a patient at work. I continued to work, however not using my left arm, and didn't go into the ER until the next day, and have been restricted from the use of my arm. I am director of restorative therapy, but up until my injury I've been doing all myself, but now I have a temporary helper to do most of the 'hands on' therapy with the patients. I have missed no work, other than for MD appts and my own PT. It has been 8 weeks since injury, and just had a MRI wiith contrast, NOT FUN. I have been using my PTO for time missed from work. My main question is, should Workmans Comp be paying for my time missed? Or, do I have to use my PTO first? I don't know any of the laws. It is looking like surgery is in the near future.
I really ache for all of you on this forum who are not able to work at all, so I certainly know that I am lucky to have a job. I just don't know what to expect or to ask for, as my employer is definately not giving out much info on what I am entitled to. Hope this didn't drone on too long.
Any info would be helpful.
Laura

RE: Question about WC
workers comp pays disability-time missed due to work restrictions.
time missed for treatment is leave time controlled by the employment contract.
