RE: ssdi question?
Both quietdude and I got it first round.....both of us had heavy duty lifting and a hands on job he was a driver for pepsi I worked for the Sal Army...we couldnt do anything by the time WC was thru with us

;)Workmans comp is not a road you want to travel alone. You need a good lawyer,a great family and good friends to lean on.If you make it thru without losing everything you have worked for all your life, you have come out ahead of the game.....Smile

RE: ssdi question?
I've always had hands on jobs and lots of walking. Part time security full time firefighter. Now no walking for more then mins and 10 pound lifting but still I got turned down twice and now going to have to wait 2 years for a hearing. They just don't like to hand out any money here. Now a friend did get hers and she could work now, but then she knew somebody at SS

RE: ssdi question?
I was approved for SSDI in 6 weeks. I scheduled a in-person meeting at the local SSA office and had original medical records from all of my doctors.

Also had the names of doctors, address, and phone numbers.

I have multi-disibilities, the SSA workers said it wasn't any one disability that qualified me, it was the combination of disabilities that qualified me.

I'm not trying to be Mean, but Second Guessing or even trying to Guess what w/c or SSDI is going to do, so Early in Your Case will do You No Good, and Only Add Stress to Your Life! The Folks on Here are Very Knowledgeable in Situations that have effected them, but No One can Say for Certain what will Happen with You. Patience is Something I know I wrote about to You Before, and it is Very Important to Have, especially when Dealing with w/c and SSDI at the Same Time! Please Ask and Learn, that's what We are Here for, but Please take the Advice Given until Something Different Happens in Your Case, and Please be Patient, Answers Will Take Time, but they Will Come!! Best of Luck!!Wink

Failed Back Surgery, Chronic Pain, Totally Disabled.

Knowledge is Power, Especially in the World of w/c. Learn as Much as You can about Your States w/c Laws, and don't Fight Battles alone, They Use Attorney's, and so Should You!!

RE: ssdi question?
Limbo you are so right. Everybody and everything is differant. What happens to one may never happen with another. The one thing I have learned is just what you said ask questions and hear what others are saying but remember not to get all worked up if you can. It's hard to deal with at times because of allot of factors in your life but if you can do anything to reduce the stress in your life, things will be better.

RE: ssdi question?
Just make sure you can afford to be without income for what could possibly be 3-4 years. You may get it first try but the odds are against you if you have a borderline case. I too have had a fusin surgey with a cadaver bone in my neck. Same for my left knee. Cadaver bone in it. I am awaiting my 5th surgery in 3 years. I also suffer from schizoaffective disorder, panic attacks, and anxiety disorder. I have been turned down 2 times and have waited 18 months so far to go before the judge. 1 thing you can be doing is there are websites that will give you an idea of how long your state's wait time is to go before the judge. I am in Indiana and we are either the worst or in the top 3. Over 2 year wait. So make sure you have the money or like me people to help you out. Good Luck!
