RE: Question about pain levels & medication
Tramadol (Ultram) is an opiate. However it is relatively mild in it's impairing effects so that it is not what is called a scheduled medication such as Darvocet or lortabs. The PDR and DrugsRx web sites do caution that it may cause many of the same side effects as any other opiate.

RE: Question about pain levels & medication
Hi,
I also take "Tramadol" (Ultram). I have had good luck with it, but have to take 2 at a time..because one doesn't get it. I take this mix two times a day...Celebrex, Lyrica, Ultram, Soma, Omerprazole (for tummy) and half of a 650 Vicodan, only if needed. So far it has worked well for me. Tramadol is also addictive...this is what scares me about it Lilly

RE: Question about pain levels & medication
My opinion is, I have no idea what will or won't work for pain from one person to the next. Pain medications and such, are hit and miss, like almost any other medication.
I've tried them all, yet to find one that works well. Reply's are intended solely for informational purposes. They are based on personal opinions, experience, or research and are "not to be taken as fact or legal advice", otherwise, always consult an attorney or a doctor. |

RE: Question about pain levels & medication
I am back from the appointment.
After talking about last weeks IME, and the lumbar spine, knees, carpal tunnel, and neck injury. There wasn't much time left to talk about medication changes. Since the only treatment I have received has been for the left knee (replacement) this doctor gets stuck with the other injuries. He is limited with what he can do because of work comp case and the auto accident case. Although, my doctor has gotten to know my attorney well over the past couple of years (Laughing) I do have an appointment with this doctor next week. Since I now have a letter from the adjuster saying the medical on the auto insurance has been maxed, my health insurance will now pay for the neck injury and today the doctor orderd a cervical MRI with a return doctor's appointment. I do plan to address the subject of medication at the next appointment. |
