Its been one Hellva weekend
Thursday Daniel my 9 year old comes home and tells me a girl in his grade was killed wed nite, along with her Mom and sister in a car wreak...it was a head on and they were hit by a 21 year old man who was texting and went left of center and hit head on distroying a family, the father is in critical condition and another child was treated and released...the young man that was texting was also killed....When I asked Daniel how he was feeling his answer was Nana she was always nice and fun to play with so I know she went to heaven......I will miss her.....Kids are smarter than us adults I think

Then My Daughter Connie calls me Friday nite with the news she is being sent to Iraq for a year this time......she has 2 years left to retirement...again I come before all of you asking that you keep her in your prayers that she comes home safely.....Remember she has 3 young ones that will miss her greatly.

Again thank all of you for being here for me again...

;)Workmans comp is not a road you want to travel alone. You need a good lawyer,a great family and good friends to lean on.If you make it thru without losing everything you have worked for all your life, you have come out ahead of the game.....Smile

We pray for Connie too we also have friends over there and pray that every one stays safe and comes home safe. As for your 9 year old Daniel is young and has to deal with such a thing. It's just tragic when anybody dies by the hand of another in a situation like that.
I too have lost my oldest nephew that way, he was in construction. After work he was following a coworker and the car his coworker was driving didn't have brake lights. Well he slammed on the breaks which put my nephew in a situation of either hitting him or swurving to miss him. Well I wished he would have picked rear ending him but he didnt. My sister has been devistated, it really hurts a family when tragic takes place and a life is lost.
He was only 23 and left his soon to be wife and 2 awsome little girls behind. The man went to court and beat all charges against him but endangering safty of another. The jury would not convict him on vehicular manslaughter, but the judge did make him sit 6 months in jail just to make a statement that if you drive and endanger anyone you should pay. Now there is no sentence or money that can bring back a loved one but a little justice does help.
I do feel there are too many people using there cell phone while driving and they are not just young kids.

RE: Its been one Hellva weekend
I too Jayne am so sorry to have of your daughter having to go to Iraq and will pray that the angels will watch over her and the rest of our soldiers. I have alot of respect for all that serve our country and HAVE served our country.

I also feel for your son Daniel. My daughter also lost a very dear friend of hers at that age that had asthma when we had a bad power outage for days and she was using a machine. I have no idea but it was something about her being found dead after coming home from school and her machine was not working when she had an attack.

Anyways, we took her to the funeral to pay her respects and to this day she still has her picture on her dresser at the age of 24 and it is amazing how much they always remember their friends of the little time they had with them. So what ever he needs to do to say goodbye I would let him do it in his own way he would feel best. Even if it is a trip to the grave to lay a flower or a note etc.

My deepest sympathy for the family , and prayers are with you for your daughter while she is away : )

RE: Its been one Hellva weekend
She will be in my prayers right alongside of all the other soldiers that are fighting to keep us safe. Give Daniel the encouragement he needs during this unfortunant event that has taken his friend to Heaven. He may not want to talk much at first, but when he does, he'll need you.

I lost my 18 year old brother due to a car accident when I was 11, I still remember it as if it was yesterday. My oldest brother serving in the Army and stationed in Germany, he was flown home for the funeral and then had to return soon afterwards, he was 21 at that time.

RE: Its been one Hellva weekend
Jayne,
Okay my friend your plate is filling up. I am very sad that your daughter will be sent back to Iraq. She will definately be in my prayers. I talked to my brother in law on the computer the other night and he has been in Afgahanstan for a year now. He does surveilence work for a company called Lockeed Martin.

As for your sweet Daniel, this is going to be a bit difficult for him to deal with. I know you, being the wonderful mother that you are will see him through his difficult time. He will be okay as I now you and the Lord will help him through this.

All of your children are great kids as I could see this when I met ya'll in Lafayette. They are so very well behaved and well mannered.

I will be keeping all of you in my prayers my friend. Love ya and God Bless.
