Question about carpal tunnel

RE: Question about carpal tunnel
Bummer did you get my reply when you asked me what I did for relief of pain with my dominant hand with recurring carpal tunnel? You need to do less with that hand and did you ever go to therapy? They make you a special brace instead of the ones that you buy at the store. The technician dips the form and wraps it around your hand to have it specially fit for you. It is removable but is better fitting and more comfortable to wear. You do not want to NOT use your hand or you will have alot of trouble getting your hand to work again if it stiffens up from not using it. But do not overdo it when you do use it. Stop when you feel pain and massage it.

If you have had the therapy and the injections and exhausted all other things to relieve the pain then I think you really should go for the surgery. The way it is done now is so minor with very few incisions compared to when I had mine done 10 yrs. ago. The recovery time should be faster also. I know the same day I had the full open wrist surgery I went to college after to take an exam and used that hand.

carpal tunnel recurrence/ neuropathy / RSD.
1/29/07 injury date. Permanent. PIR settlement 8/4/08 10%

RE: Question about carpal tunnel
Hi Sparkey

Yes I did. I went to a doctor last week and he wants to address the left hand (not the donimant one).

The NCT for the right hand was done is August, I was told then I needed surgery. The doctor I saw last week was an ortho not a hand surgeon. He said I won't treat that hand at this time.

Sparkey I can hold a pen in that hand for a few seconds only. Yesterday I managed to write 4 words on my to do list, that it!.

I can still type as long as I take breaks.

My primary doctor gave me the name of a couple hand surgeons I am checking them out.

Bummer Knees.

RE: Question about carpal tunnel
Well, I do know a person that has dealt with Carpal Tunnel in both wrist. They had surgery on their main wrist (hand) twice for the release, and surgery 1 time on the other (hand) wrist.

Facts are medication can only help in the aide of minor pain, and sweeling. facts are, even before a surgery, a person should always build up the muscles and tendons of the area before surgery, but also after surgery. Doing this before surgery, helps promote better healing, and less Scare tissue build up. Plus healing time is also well reduced.

Knowing the Pain, and is one willing to pay, to learn on how to properly build up these muscles and tendons without the use of weights. Well the person I know, done just that. They got tired of PT, and having to pay for it. So, they simply bought the program, and now, has been Pain Free for over 5 years.

If your willing to pay, then here is the Web Link they gave me.

Please note, like anything else, each person reacts different to any kind of treatment. Plus they need to be willing to fully follow a program for that relief.
