Vocational Rehab
As you remember, I am still in voc rehab, going on my third year with my ninth counselor(I think, I lost count).
This morning she called, wanted an update on job history. She already has it for the past 20 years, this time she needed it from 1971(when I graduated from high school) until 1990. Who can remember all?

We actually had a conference call with lawyer's assistance and she strongly protested, why they need this going back to such a long time? Counselor said, new regulations.

Anyone had this experience? Am I the only one who is going through this madness?

Kat

RE: Vocational Rehab
I recall when I started the process. I had to tell them about every job I had, had. From working at a ice house, to the military to doing HVAC work and about my state license. after that I had to have a mental exam ( that I walked out on). They wanted to all they could about me.

The only advice I can give is, be as honest as possible and if you don't remeber, then tell them that. I would not stress over it.

8-05, Micro laminectomy/disectomy. 10-05 lumbar fusion L5-S1. 2-07 exploritory surgery. 12-07 medical implant, Spinal Cord Stimulator. now receiving SSDI. Jesus died for our sins. Soilders died for our freedom.

Each day is not a rite,it's a given.

RE: Vocational Rehab
Hi Kat... I was wondering how you came out...so i looked backwards on the forum.

What has your lawyer said about harrassment?
This is what this is sounding like in your case.
How did you come out?

RE: Vocational Rehab
Hi, Lilly,

Thanks for asking. Lawyer protested but voc counselor only said, these are new requirements for 2009.

No outcome yet as everyone is waiting now for IME results.
I had all three completed just a few days ago and they were as I expected. All three were jerks and I never had a chance with them.
On my last Ime, my daughter was able to attend and it helped a little.
Not sure what will happen next, but I assume, Ime docs will agree with voc counselor's JA's and claims manager might close my claim.
I will keep you posted whatever happens.

RE: Vocational Rehab
I will keep you in my prayers Kat!

IMO....your case seems to be utterly ridiculous, verging on harrassment, on the part of WC and their IC !

take care Lilly

RE: Vocational Rehab
i'm thinking it's good that they haven't given up on you. They probably could have easily throw in the towel many times. Permanent total disability can be an onerous situation where you're on comp the rest of you life.
Are you aware of washington's benefits if you are given a 100% disabled rating?

RE: Vocational Rehab
1171,

I am more confused than ever how my state is handling my claim and no... I am not aware how benefits work if someone is awarded the 100% disability rating.
Can you explain?

Regarding how w/c didn't give up on me...believe me, they are trying since 2006.
Not enough that they refuse any treatment since 2006, but they put me through hell with this whole vocational issues. I lost count how many counselors were assigned to me since 2006 and claims manager keeps firing them if they dare to suggest anything in my favor, including re-training.

As Lilly thinks, I am being harrassed and I know why. I believe I have a just case and I will not give up the fight.

Thanks for your input and I always welcome your opinion and advise.

Kat

RE: Vocational Rehab
Hang in there Kat....I WOULD NOT give them the satisfaction of throwing in the towel, letting them win.
You are in pain, have been, and most likely will continue to be, since you have not recieved any medical care that is due to you. I too, believe you have a "just" case, and they are deliberately making you miserable, in attempt to make you go away!
HANG TOUGH LADY! Lilly

1171.....fill us in a bit, would you please?

RE: Vocational Rehab
Thanks, Lilly, you are a very nice and caring lady and it really helps me knowing someone supports me in this fight.

1171...please respond, as I like to know, what happens if someone is given 100% disability rating in my state.
